She made 25 wire transfers totaling 6.5M to pay the taxes and fees on his investment deal so his investment fund payout could be paid to them.

“Yes, men fall for this scam, too.”

Yep. I watch Dr. Phil by extension due to my wife’s affinity for the show. He constantly has women and men on that fall for these scams. Most of the time it takes a while for these people to be convinced its a scam.

P.T. Barnum was right I guess.

A woman lost 6 million? .. How many men lost their assets in divorce court last year? . 6 million is a Monday’s docket alone.

This guys address is 1.7 miles from me. Some company called GI Imports. Created in 2018.

Neighbor hood is nice, 400k house in East Cobb, Marietta.

I wonder if this guy was share rider that have me a ride from Johny McCraken’s Celtic Pub. They can’t pour a pint of Guiness there to save the arse, ironically.

It is sad that someone so desperate for love and romance would fall for this.

Man is that dumb. The dating sites tell people to not give out personal information of any kind unless you know the person and feel comfortable with them, to not even give out where you live ect.

I knew a woman from another state who got scared and had get new bank accounts and everything because she was so gullible she gave the Nigerians too much info.

I watch Dr. Phil by extension

As a matter of fact, before I saw this thread, I was binge-watching that show online. And most of the shows I watched were about Americans falling for online romance scams.

Many of the victims were older men. All of the victims seemed intelligent enough, and one man in particular was quite handsome. But they all fell for the scam!

Now, alot of millenials who are married maintain separate accounts,

They're smart to do that. Even if one spouse earns less, he/she should keep his/her funds separate. Because a high-earning spouse can clean out a joint account, too. In fact, every engaged couple should sign a pre-nuptial agreement before marriage.

It’s really hard for me to feel sorry for stupid people.

It's good that you are so smart.

Still, your post is pretty cold during the Christmas season.

Now, a lot of millenials who are married maintain separate accounts, especially when the woman earns more. Expenses are shared equally. So the person earning less, has less disposable income.

I'm really shocked that married couples live that way. I've been married over 30 years and have no idea about the concept of "my' money or "her" money. Whatever we earn gets dumped into joint accounts and we pay the bills together. If enough if left over, we go out to eat or take a vacation. It's always been that way and I know no other way.

I can see a lot of arguments ensuing over trying to keep the money separate in a marriage.

That's because you're both trustworthy. What you have is called a good marriage. :-)

Unfortunately, not everyone is trustworthy. One unscrupulous spouse can clean out a joint account and run off with the money. It happens all the time.
