A Popeyes employee has been arrested after being caught on video body-slamming a customer outside a Tennessee store. Deriance Ra'Shaiel Hughes, 29, has been charged with felony aggravated assault after allegedly attacking Debra Staggs in a dispute over her check. Rocky McElhaney Law Firm which is representing Staggs, 55, said she was trying to get a refund after being charged twice for her $13.11 meal.

So sad. The manager she spoke with should have told her to go in when he was working. Never been in a Popeyes. Never will. Chick fila opened across street from Popeyes. Long line but everyone civilized.
Wonder how many chicken sandwiches they need to sell to cover all the legal and medical bills. ?

Wouldn’t you think you’d question the cashier before handing him $26.22 for your order? Clearly you should realize what you ordered didn’t cost that much. This story doesn’t make a lot of sense.

I hand over my card all the time at drive in. They tell you the cost over the intercom.Most don’t even give you a receipt. A 55 year old probably wears reading glasses and might not put them in to check.

I don’t know what body slammed means. I thought he tackled her. Just saw video. As she was leaving in parking lot he grabbed her from behind, threw her up in air and slammed her to the ground. It was brutal.
Or maybe it was part of a corporate promotion gone terribly wrong ...

That’s probably what happened. The story should have been more specific. Too bad she didn’t ask to speak to a manager. Poor woman, you have to be so careful when dealing with certain people I guess.
The beauty of credit cards is you can dispute charges in the comfort of your own home.
The Tennessean had an article by her attorney. It shows a copy of her bill. She had take out Sunday so that was a week ago. I saw on the bill it was 13.11 charged to her visa card. Visa probably charged twice.
According to her atty they called her an ugly, broken cracker.
