Russian troops clad in World War II-era uniforms marched across Moscow's Red Square in a reconstruction of a wartime parade on Thursday.

The 1941 October Revolution Parade has become a symbol of Soviet valor and tenacity in the face of overwhelming odds.

Thursday's re-enactment of the military event marks the 78th anniversary of march on the 7 November 1941.

I would eat a lot more ice cream. The older I get the more I notice that all of the cutest teenage girls seem to work at ice cream stands.

November 7, 1941 the Wehrmacht where at the gates of Moscow and Stalin had reinforcements from Siberia come through Moscow.

His top spy in Tokyo said that Japan was not going to invade Russia and he released the troops on that basis.

Russian soldiers in WW2 who had any direct contact with Western lifestyle or messaging, on the front or in the prison camps, were brought back to the motherland and shot.

Don’t know if it is still done, but at least until recently it was still a tradition for a new Russian bride and groom to visit the local ‘Patriotic War’ memorial and leave the wedding flowers.

Most of the Soviet soldiers that survived being prisoners of war in Germany were given 10 year prison sentences in Siberia for anti state activities.
