Kafka in Foggy Bottom: impeachment transcript reveals fear of Trump tweets

Testimony of veteran diplomat Marie Yovanovitch exposes Trump’s paralysing hold on the administration What shines through the testimony of Marie Yovanovitch is her disorientation. She is a veteran diplomat at the peak of her career, and in one of the most challenging but important posts in US foreign policy. But she had no clue what was happening inside her own government.

On 24 April this year, she received a call from Carol Perez, the director general of the foreign service, speaking to her in cryptic tones as if Yovanovitch’s life was in danger if she remained at her ambassadorial post in Kyiv. She spoke as if there was a threat too awful to describe clearly on a phone line.

“She said that there was a lot of concern for me, that I needed to be on the next plane home to Washington,” Yovanovitch recalled in her testimony to the congressional committees conducting impeachment hearings. Taken aback, the ambassador to Ukraine wanted to know what the sudden panic was about. Perez just told her: “I don’t know, but this is about your security. You need to come home immediately.”

So now others' state of mind "exposes" President Trump? Well then, I suppose he could sue them for having slanderous thoughts..........

“She is a veteran diplomat at the peak of her career...”

In other words: “She’s as stupid as they come and she’s been promoted to a position that sounds useful, but isn’t.”

“Kafka in Foggy Bottom: impeachment transcript reveals fear of Trump tweets”

What a surprise, just like the Hussein Heads here: “I wish Trump would stop tweeting....”

It appears that Trump needs to be held responsible for imaginary tweets he might have made but didn't. The Red Guardian is in liberal La La Land again. In any case, it isn't as if Trump were the boss of the State Department or anything...oh, wait...yes, he is.

They act like Trump is a godfather. He’s the nicest guy I can imagine. If me or half the people here were multi-billionaires it’d look like a Sopranos episode. These internal spies and saboteurs would all get whacked pumping gas, answering the door, thinking they were going to a social event, etc.

Trump is a nice guy if you ask me.

Death by tweets. The left is so lost.

This is one big load of horse hockey. Their “impeachment” case must really be crumbling.

What’s Kafkaesque is the secret impeachment crap.

It’s The Trial.

She was not a Trump person. Can you say “good-bye”?

Every single Ambassador, DCM, Attache and embassy floor sweeper serves at the pleasure of the President and he/she can fire every single one of them right now with “0” legal repercussion.

I have served at an Embassy and the Ambassador could also fire or kick out of country every single person in the Embassy. There might be a lot of political blowback to do so, and the president might remove them afterwards, but there could be no legal repercussions because they have that authority.

What a load of hooey this former Ambassador is trying to shovel.

Suddenly the guardian is all concerned over the welfare of a US ambassador. I don’t recall that much concern over the US ambassador to libya, who was murdered by fanatical m*slims for being gay.

That’s it, the Democrats are going to impeach Trump for tweeting while President.

Interesting line of reasoning. Can anyone trace out this logic, how to get from premise to conclusion?

This is rather like the Underpants Gnomes Profit Plan, as described in a South Park episode.

Something seems to be missing in the middle.

Kafka’s Trial didn’t have as much intrigue as this one.

I could just imagine some of the “super-rich” in American history being elected to that office. Ford, John Morgan, Gould and some of the others.

It would be a Sopranos episode for some of these idiots.

There is not doubt that her life was in danger.

She was a key player in a trans national criminal enterprise that was suddenly under serious investigation and she is a key witness who can bring down many of the players, especially the Ukraine nationals.

Ukraine is one of the most corrupt nations in the world and it is lawless when it comes to actions of the rich and powerful

No telling how much damage she could do so why take a chance

She was two weeks short of the end of her appointment so it was no big deal in fact. She said they asked her to stay another year. We don't really know that. It might have been an off the cuff remark.

We know something that she's not telling us about. And from the transcript of the call, it looks like the President of Ukraine knew something, too.

Of course they are afraid of Trump tweets.

The Mad Tweeter has them on the ropes. He is constantly destroying their carefully prepared naratives, exposing the fakeness of their very very fake news. Pointing out their corruption, which is such an abuse of power.
