One of my faves since the mid 80s (I always knew about them from about ‘82 or so, just didn’t get into them until after high school.
The best Frankenstein I ever saw when Edgar toured with Leon Russell and his band about 30 years ago. Small club. 20 minutes of frightfully good jamming.
I saw Phantom 4 times with Michael Crawford. He gave me goose bumps. He IS the Phantom. I watched the movie....meh. I just saw the new Phantom in San Diego last summer. It’s good but not half as good as the original.
Never saw Edgar. Did catch Johnny at a small club in suburban Chicago. 90 solid minutes of awesome blues and rock guitar.

I saw Johnny at the same club I saw Edgar (The Catalyst in Santa Cruz), and during the same time period (late 80s). Johnny was very late arriving and the audience was getting restless. Then suddenly he darts on stage with his Firebird like he was in a hurry and proceeds to play the highest energy blues possible, but for only about 70 minutes. Then he bolted off the stage as quickly as he arrived and was gone. But the show was so good that few cared about its length.
Im pretty sure the venue was BGinings in Schaumburg. They had all kinds of great acts back in the 80s. Lou Reed, Tommy James, Spirit, Pat Travers, and a ton of others.
In my misspent youth I was known to play bass guitar in a local band there from time to time. Back when I had hair.

Wow. Found some old info about the joint here:

I probably saw half theses bands. Iggy POP for sure, Lene Lovich, Sammy, Rory, man...those were some days.

In Chicago did you ever go to Buddy Guys Legends and/or Checkerboard Lounge blues clubs? Ive seen Buddy about a dozen times (last time a quarter century ago), but alas never in Chi-town. Cool that you played at BGinnings.
Legends? Hell yes. Cant be a music guy in Chicago without going at least once. Saw Keith there once. Just wandered in, hit the stage, and started jamming. No announcement, nothing. Just Hey, look whos here!
Did the Checkerboard once or twice, too back in the day. Then in my Punk phase there was Exit which was the subject of a PBS documentary called You Werent There. Still have a tattered One Free Drink ticket framed on the wall of my bar at home.
Saw The Cramps, Dead Kennedys and the Plasmatics on a triple Bill there. My ears rang for days.
Oh to be young and stupid again.

Setlist.com is a good resource. Rory could really play. Same with Michael Schenker (UFO).
Speaking of punk, I see that the Ramones played BGinnings a few times in the late 70s. I saw some punk at the Roxy and Whisky (on the Sunset strip) in that time period. Crazy days.
Anne Boleyn. Autocorrect, you jerk!
Oh, my gosh! That must have been epic!
Epic!
