Perhaps you are not thinking through very far or well my phrase:
poor fathering
Criminal fathers would certainly qualify as poor fathers.
Nevertheless, the bigger problem for more sons is absent fathers and fathers who do not love them in healthy manly affectionate ways sufficiently for the son to feel worthwhile.
Resulting hopelessness dumps the sons routinely into the arms of the pseudo ‘family’ of gangs.
I stand by my assertion re poor fathering & absent fathers being THE major, top most contributor to crime.
Maybe it’s the case that I have lived in such areas and don’t buy into the excuses chumed up by the professional excuse makers.
It’s the cult of violence that is the primary cause of fatherless families. Fathers in prison. Fathers that can’t be bothered to play the father role because they’re to busy being gang bangers, etc.
Ain’t gonna slogan our way out of this.

I agree there’s no sloganing a way out.
Nevertheless, the lack of quality fathering originates in a lack of quality fathering. We could likely trace it back to Adam but wouldn’t help.
When boys are not fathered by quality fathers, their sense of self-worth is negative. Flailing about desperately searching for fatherly affirmation usually quickly entails rebellion & soon crime.
The pseudo families that are gangs are the closest thing most of them have ever experienced to “belonging.” And THAT is a serious human NEED.
I think you are still focusing on 2ndary factors. Real enough but still 2ndary.
