Britain’s Prince Harry appealed on Monday in a national park in Malawi for increased global efforts to protect the environment against “greed, apathy and selfishness”.
“This may well sound hippy to some, but we cannot afford to have a ‘them or us’ mentality. Humans and animals and their habitats fundamentally need to co-exist or within the next 10 years our problems across the globe will become even more unmanageable.”
Harry, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth, also guest-edited National Geographic magazine’s Instagram account on Monday to encourage people worldwide to appreciate the value of trees, Buckingham Palace said.
In a campaign entitled ‘Looking Up’, the Duke of Sussex posted pictures taken by National Geographic’s photographers - among them images from the Liwonde National Park that he was visiting - to raise awareness of trees’ vital role in the Earth’s eco-system.

Yes, Harry, you do sound hippy. Photo safaris are big business in Africa so they can't have poaching. Yes, there's black market poaching but you can't put a fence around the entirety of the continent. Good to know there are British soldiers protecting African wildlife instead of protecting British women and children.
Now, those soldiers who are good at tracking poachers through the forests bring up another does not compute situation. Harry was planting trees the other day at a reserve. Odd thing, there were plenty of trees around. After wasting however long searching for why he was doing this, other than for a photo op, the only reference was to a flood from 100 years ago that wiped out trees along the river. 100 year old climate change! Of course, trees have since grown back so still don't see the need to plant any.

“Greed and selfishness” as in private jetting around the world? Spending millions to renovate a royal cottage to get away from Will and Kate?
So, Harry will push the royals to sell off Buckingham Palace, all the artwork within, along with Balmoral Castle and every other opulent reminders of ill-gotten riches, and they’ll all move into modest apartments? Will they royals forever eschew private air travel?
