Last night's Eagles vs Packers clash was rocked by nasty helmet-on-helmet collisions which saw two NFL stars stretchered off the field.

High-octane levels of contact dominated the match in Wisconsin from the opening when Green Bay star Jamaal Williams suffered a bruising late charge in the first quarter.

Worried spectators clasped their hands over their mouths as the running back lay motionless on the grass while medics sprinted over.

This was followed by an equally brutal collision in the fourth when Philadelphia cornerback Avonte Maddox was brought down after smacking heads with a teammate.

I saw the first hit on Jamaal Williams. It was a cheap shot. Williams was being held up by multiple Eagles defenders when the Bernett launched himself head first into Williams. Barnett should be fined and suspended. The second is a classic case of some defender lauching himself not bothering to see where he is going.

That’s why it’s called football and not tiddlywinks or croquet.

How many of the “athletes” involved in these plays refuse to stand for the National Anthem?

When a fan money generated performance is created, it goes where the fans want it to. I can almost promise you that the hits, if they hadn’t caused injuries, would have been top 10’s somewhere to include ESPN.

As it is, they have been portrayed as examples of what the game produces. Head and neck injuries have been a part of this game since it was created. Rules against certain types of hits have not stopped them, they still happen. The only thing they have done is protect their investments by putting certain positions, and behind the scenes, certain players, off limits. This is why they have stopped the quarterback hits with the slide, blindside hits, leaving receivers alone after 10 yards, changed the blocking techniques to include grasping, (certain ways), forearm shiv, horse collar, there’s a list.

It’s not the player safety, it’s the money. And it is appropriate they call some of the buildings they play in colisseums. If the players were turned lose it would be a street fight. And many of the players are hired to do just that. And they celebrate the hits with dances and pointing. Proud aren’t they? If they just walked away, it wouldn’t hit the screen unless they hurt someone. And if they don’t here comes the confetti.

Why in the Hell would Rodgers throw the ball on consecutive downs right at the goal line? The Packers D completely got scorched. Fortunately, they have a week and a half to get their s—t together.

Are you not entertained?
Everyone watches when someone gets hurt. It’s human nature. Sad but true.

‘Modern day’ Gladiators have a choice to leave the ring under their own power or get carried off on a cart. The Roman-era gladiators weren’t quite so lucky.

It’s no longer a game of strategy and execution, only violence and exploitation of the masses that applaud others misfortunes and actions on the field, failed and otherwise.

Expulsion from the league for life might save a few down the road, but change isn’t likely. That’s just how it is, some say. Can’t watch, don’t watch.

You have the control of what you view in your hands and wallets. Exercise it. More than a few already have.

Both injuries were caused by Eagles players acting like human torpedoes, the second one against his own teammate.

It’s a black thing. They’re the game. Bigger, stronger, and faster than the whites. Whites are the power structure. They’re just as culpable.

I dunno, maybe a cheap shot, maybe just coming in hard trying to knock the ball out.

It won’t be too much longer before the Nanny-Staters have the players in uniforms that look like giant Gumby dolls and tossing aroud Nerf balls. Grievance Of The Week kneeling will be mandatory and there’s no final score, just participation medals.

I saw at least 3 obvious D pass interference plays that the officials refused to call.

There were dirty plays by both teams.

I didn’t like that the Eagles won a game, but was also glad that the Prima Donna Aaron Rogers lost.

Now I’m a baseball fan first and foremost. And I realize you can be injured playing baseball. But it’s an order of magnitude less than football injuries.
