Didnt this happen like two hundred years ago?
I am intrigued by Jacob Hamblin’s account who owned a ranch at Mountain Meadows at the time of the massacre.
When asked who was most to blame .... he stated that it was ‘Buchanon’s Blunder’ which sent the US army to ‘subdue’ the Mormons, causing a panic. These same Mormons had been run from NY to Ohio to Missouri to Illinois and then to Utah from religeous persecution and were unwilling to run again.
Without ‘Buchanon’s Blunder’ there would have been no ‘Mountain Meadows Massacre’.
Here you go. From MASSACRES OF THE MOUNTAINS by Dunn Jr. Back when it was still hot news.

Bumper Sticker; Antifa is against facism, Not
When they wanted to get Statehood for Utah, the US government took a dim view of their polygamy....lo and behold, their President had a "vision" that polygamy, once thought to be a sacrament, was now a mortal sin.
In 1978, BYU's football program was struggling. Why? Because they considered black people "subhuman". Guess what? ANOTHER vision!!! Instead of "White and delightsome", it became "pure and delightsome".
Fast forward to today...the Mormon church consists of nice, solid, patriotic citizens, kinda like living in "Leave It To Beaver" land, aka, plastic people. However, the Mormon church is one "revelation" away from becoming flag-burning, gun-grabbing, baby-killing, pro-homosexual leftists.
There is discussion of this in the Civil War +150 series run by Homer_J_Simpson. Go back to 2017!
I agree that the people who did it were to blame, but they were not just some random group. They murdered innocent men women and children.
The fact that they were Mormons should not be swept under the rug.
Mormons killed some members of the Church of Christ in that massacre and they are not demanding revenge. Forgiveness is what Jesus taught.
I just finished rereading Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s, “A Study In Scarlet”. It was forty years since I first read Sherlock Holmes. It mentions the Mormon Avenging Angels. Conan Doyle clearly didn’t like them.
On the other hand Conan Doyle tho a great writer would sometimes make up stuff.
Some people did something.
I blame everything on the people who did it.
Isn't that exactly the excuse that Muslim extremists use for their latest atrocity? Someone else made them do it. The travelers from Arkansas and the Mormons involved were both victims the false gospel of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. The travelers suffering physical death and the Mormons spiritual death.
My wife’s step dad’s family, the Dunlaps, were involved in the massacre. His granddad and his great uncle were brothers who came west with their families with one going north and the other going south. If memory serves me a couple of girls were spared
Passions ran high in Mormon culture back then. Brigham Young had two guys, Hickman and Rockwell, who would disappear anyone who made Brigham unhappy.
Then Brigham drew a map of the Mountain West and declared a great big chunk of it a separate and sovereign country. The Feds sent the army out to abort that venture.
So along comes a wagon train of gentiles headed west and the locals saw it as an opportunity to get some revenge.
Mormon men did it to take women
Its not a new concepts
Massacre and take breeding stock
Thats how Mormonism spread so fast
Multiple wives and breed em
It worked
Utah has a plethora of good looking women
And what is essentially a state church
Just one mans opinion
Other than Mormonism I like Mormons ....a lot actually
Mormonism I find troubling if Im honest with myself
Doesnt mean I cant just accept that peacefully
Theyre Mormons. Nuff said
Speaking of shootouts, I have always wondered that barring the presence of the ATF & Janet Reno whether David Koresh could have developed his denomination to the level of Joe Smith’s in a few decades.
