So; just how was Jesus conceived??
In the first edition of the Book of Mormon (1830), Mary was referred to as
"the mother of God, after the manner of the flesh,"[6]
a reading that was changed by Joseph Smith to
"the mother of the Son of God"
in subsequent editions (1837).[7][8]
Latter Day Saints also believe that God the Father is the literal father of Jesus Christ,[9] although how Jesus' conception was accomplished has not been authoritatively established.[10]
How was Jesus concieved? I would recommend that you read Isaih 7, Matthew 1 and Luke 1.
Please .... Quit straining at a gnat while you swallow your camel herd.
You believe in a heavenly schizophrenic God that:
1. A Christian God that prays to himself. (John 17)
2. A Christian God that forsakes himself (Matt 27:46)
3. A Christian God the keeps secrets from himself (Matt 24:36)
I believe that God Almighty is the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost is a spirit which does the will of Almighty God.
.... GOD DOES NOT NEED PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING FOR MULTIPLE-PERSONALITY DISORDER!!!
How would I know if those references were translated correctly?
I need to know what MORMONism teaches.
You seem to be hungup on this trinity thing.
Why isn’t the words of WITNESSES enough for you?
They begin in Genesis where God says to Isaac, Fear not, for I am with you (Genesis 26:24, KJV).
And in Matthew 1:23, And they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us (KJV).
We have been told how Jesus got His phyiscal body; the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary, and she conceived.
What we are NOT told is how Mormonism thinks that god the father got HIS body.
Any sources to find this out?
We know that the QUAD states that no man can see GOD and live (Exodus 33:20), yet Joseph Smith claimed that he saw BOTH the Father and Jesus.
(Actually he did NOT say this; just that two personages were in his midst.)
What we are told however, is that God created Man in his own image. Just as
Surprise! God has not revealed everything there is to know about him. I suppose that he knows that doing so would be equivalent to “casting pearls before swine” to those who can’t handle the truth.
For instance, you can’t even handle the information from the Bible that God has a body and that it was used as a pattern for mankind. You also think that Christ for some reason ditched his body after working so hard to resurrect it.
Unlike you, who believe that God has stopped giving information to man .... except when Councils are developed to declare new creeds. We believe that God is willing and able to give more information to mankind.
God has not revealed the information that you ask. I guess we’re just going to have to wait until he does. (Unlike in 325 A.D. where they got impatient with God and made up stuff about him at the Council of Nicea).
You never explained how Christ desired his followers (us) to be ‘one’ even as he and God are ‘one’ (John 17)
Since you believe that God prays to himself .... is Christ asking us to pray to ourselves?
Give it up ... ‘The Emperor has no Clothes’ .... I could never be a member of a Church that believes that God has a multiple-personality-disorder.
You can’t even prove it with the scriptures! There’s more evidence in the bible against your Creed than there is for it!
No; we are told, "Let US create man in OUR image."
There may be others; not quite as dense as I; that COULD handle this information you posess.
Could you post it for them; as I'm probably too set in my ways to parse it correctly.
I do??
Golly; I didn't even know this!
Unlike Joseph Smith, who stated that the BoM was the most correct book ever; and that it RESTORED the gospel; never the less wrote that God has STARTED giving more information to man again, and that info comes ONLY thru ONE man one earth; the Living Prophet® of TCOJCOLDS.
But WHY?
Isn't your religion good enough already??
I see.
Can you point out just which parts are made up here??
The Nicene Creed was originally written in Greek.
Its principal liturgical use is in the context of the Eucharist in the West and in the context of both baptism and the Eucharist in the East.
A modern English version of the text is as follows:
1. I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
2. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.
3. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.
4. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
5. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
6. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
7. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
8. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
9. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
10. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
Me neither.
Tell me; could you be a member of a church that has a large choir that sings hymns written by gentiles?
But alas .... you are.
Since the Trinity - Christ you believe in prays to himself, forsakes himself, and withholds information from his multi-personalities ....
You will never know the true Jesus Christ.... and ....
John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
(notice it the emphasis on two beings .... Jesus Christ subordinate to God the Father)
I see.
Your quad has some neat stuff in it; The KJV of the bible as well as the latest version of the BoM...
Galatians 1:7-10
7. Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 2 Corinthians 11:14-15
14. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve. Revelation 13:13-15
13. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14. And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
It appears that EXPERIENCES can be deceiving...
If one believes the Bible is correct, then, by that Standard, Mormonism fails the test.
If, however, you are convinced that the Bible is either in error, been corrupted or mis-interpreted, then you are free to believe whatever you wish.

"I am a true believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ, I do not believe everything that is now being taught and practiced by Brigham Young.
I do not care who hears it. It is my last word - it is so.
I believe he is leading the people astray, downward to destruction.
But I believe in the gospel that was taught in its purity by Joseph Smith, in former days.
I have my reasons for it.
"I studied to make this man's [Brigham Young] will my pleasure for thirty years.
See, now, what I have come to this day!
"I have been sacrificed in a cowardly, dastardly manner." (Lee enunciated this sentence with marked emphasis.)

Perhaps someday you will come to make similar statements about the corporation known legally as
Errors in the Creeds??? Which one? I’d be glad to point out the non-biblical portions of each one. My specialty are the Nicene/Apostolic and Athenasian Creeds. I particularly love to trash the Athenasian Creeds.
And thanks for the Biblical Quotes Galatians 1:7-10 .... since the Creeds ARE a perverted gospel of Christ.
I believe that the Apostle Paul foresaw the Creeds when he wrote:
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Can you think of another doctrine which essentially the entire Christian World turned away from the Truth to believe Fables??
Paul isn’t talking about a few groups of people ... he pretty much is condemning the entire future Christian community.
Oh sorry .... I didn’t see that you had posted this ‘Modern Version’ of the Creed.
The problem with this creed is the term ‘Consubstantial’ in article 3, which is the same as “Homoousios” portion of the original AD 325 Nicene Creed which means “the same substance”.
This statement declares that God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ are literally ‘one and the same’.
While the Nicene Creed somewhat hides this foreign concept, Supposedly Athenasius (The Hero of Nicea) further developed it in the following creed (however, it is believed to be forged/falsly attributed to Athenasius)
Athanasian Creed
1. Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the catholic faith;
2. Which faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly.
3. And the catholic faith is this: That we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity;
4. Neither confounding the persons nor dividing the substance.
5. For there is one person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Spirit.
6. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit is all one, the glory equal, the majesty coeternal.
7. Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Spirit.
8. The Father uncreated, the Son uncreated, and the Holy Spirit uncreated.
9. The Father incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible, and the Holy Spirit incomprehensible.
10. The Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Spirit eternal.
11. And yet they are not three eternals but one eternal.
12. As also there are not three uncreated nor three incomprehensible, but one uncreated and one incomprehensible.
13. So likewise the Father is almighty, the Son almighty, and the Holy Spirit almighty.
14. And yet they are not three almighties, but one almighty.
15. So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God;
16. And yet they are not three Gods, but one God.
17. So likewise the Father is Lord, the Son Lord, and the Holy Spirit Lord;
18. And yet they are not three Lords but one Lord.
19. For like as we are compelled by the Christian verity to acknowledge every Person by himself to be God and Lord;
20. So are we forbidden by the catholic religion to say; There are three Gods or three Lords.
21. The Father is made of none, neither created nor begotten.
22. The Son is of the Father alone; not made nor created, but begotten.
23. The Holy Spirit is of the Father and of the Son; neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding.
24. So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Spirit, not three Holy Spirits.
25. And in this Trinity none is afore or after another; none is greater or less than another.
26. But the whole three persons are coeternal, and coequal.
27. So that in all things, as aforesaid, the Unity in Trinity and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshipped.
28. He therefore that will be saved must thus think of the Trinity.
29. Furthermore it is necessary to everlasting salvation that he also believe rightly the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
30. For the right faith is that we believe and confess that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and man.
31. God of the substance of the Father, begotten before the worlds; and man of substance of His mother, born in the world.
32. Perfect God and perfect man, of a reasonable soul and human flesh subsisting.
33. Equal to the Father as touching His Godhead, and inferior to the Father as touching His manhood.
34. Who, although He is God and man, yet He is not two, but one Christ.
35. One, not by conversion of the Godhead into flesh, but by taking of that manhood into God.
36. One altogether, not by confusion of substance, but by unity of person.
37. For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one man, so God and man is one Christ;
38. Who suffered for our salvation, descended into hell, rose again the third day from the dead;
39. He ascended into heaven, He sits on the right hand of the Father, God, Almighty;
40. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
41. At whose coming all men shall rise again with their bodies;
42. and shall give account of their own works.
43. And they that have done good shall go into life everlasting and they that have done evil into everlasting fire.
44. This is the catholic faith, which except a man believe faithfully he cannot be saved.
