I’ve been in a Denny’s in Rhode Island, and won’t be back. There is no proof I was ever there. Does that mean I don’t exist?

A civilization that develops the technology to achieve interstellar travel would also have the technology to destroy themselves.
Do the math.

why we haven't found signs of intelligent extraterrestrials in our galaxy. Once they were able to produce nuclear weapons, they all blew themselves up.

Waffle House is worse. The entire building is sticky...
Perhaps that's why we don't see aliens, anymore. The planet was sticky...

This article is not unmeaningless.
Readers of “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” will understand right off. The rest of you will have to puzzle through the meaning of, “not unmeaningless”. Took me a while when reading “Hitchhikers”.

They need to believe in aliens and that travel between stars is possible, otherwise we’re stuck here and the whole universe is just a massive backdrop for our existence that makes no logical sense from a materialist point of view.

I made a good living using Newtonian physics throughout my job as a mechanical engineer. Probably know as much applied physics as any one.
