In looking over the cast, I was surprised to discover the movie featured one of Leslie Nielsen’s non-comedic roles, as the captain.

Damn. They just keep dying. When will the madness stop?

I just posted the other day about how most of the cast of "Bewitched" are now dead.

I'm going to see next how many of the cast of "Gilligan's Island" is still alive. I'm betting not many. Not many.

Sad.

I remember her from “Blue Denim”, a very controversial movie for its time.

Yeah. Gilligan just died a couple years ago; total stoner at the end from what I heard.

IIRC he was doing some drama on tv during the 70s. That small role wasn’t out of the ordinary for him. He was also the captain in Forbidden Planet but that was back in the 50s.

Ironically, Maureen McGovern who sang "The Morning After", appeared in Airplane! as the Singing Nun.

I think I just watched her less than a week ago in Return to Peyton Place. Very naturally pretty.

Leslie was a serious actor for many years. He was in the cult classic The Forbidden Planet as a serious actor.
