Midland Texas Officer Zack Owens was shot multiple times in the hand and arm when he fought off the mass-shooting by now deceased suspect, Seth Ator, shot dead by responding officers.
Flying glass shards also entered the eye of Officer Owens, an injury soon requiring ophtalmic surgery.
Officer Owens is a huge fan of the popular YouTube channels of Dr. Matt Carriker, a Texas video creator and veterinarian for VetRanch and OffTheRanch, channels with over 10 million video followers.
Learning that the injured officer is a dedicated follower, Dr. Carriker drove 10 hours through the night to pay a surprise visit to Zack and be on hand for his feted exit from his long stay at the hospital in Midland-Odessa. A noted marksman and fellow 2nd Amendment advocate, Dr. Carriker presented Officer Owens with a commemorative rifle.
Even non-boot-licking Freepers properly concerned about safety and freedom will treasure and cherish this happy and moving video.
This suprise visit was not featured on Television.
That point omits some previous stuff, but you can jump around to view from the formal startpoing, if you want that.
Cool!
I’ve watched a number of his “Demolition Ranch” videos where he shoots stuff.
I started off on his Vet channel.
Then I discovered his shooting channel.
Didn’t expect it at all, but my favorite from him is his OffTheRanch channel, in which you discover more about his family and where he lives:

That newest channel by him is now dominated by their recent buy and restoration of a distress-sale hilltop Texas MANSION, which was neglected, vandalized, smashed-up but still made a striking visual specimen and had caught their attention as they repeatedly drove by in their daily lives.
They’re re-doing everything on this mansion, it seems.
I am not really mechanical, but he is geniune and funny enough to make this topic, unknown to me, still engaging.
Actually he is the type who can make almost anything interesting, it seems.
His wife is a big fan of a place I am from, originally.
Its funny, I didn’t realize he was a vet. He is very funny, though. I enjoy his stuff.
Uh oh - the "universal background check" people are going to go nuts when they hear about this... officer or not.
Funny you said that, it occurred to me, right away, too.
We had a similar feel good story here in Philadelphia with the injured Police Officers who fought off the Muslim scum in North Philadelphia in that shootout. It’s a thankless job overall no matter what department or jurisdiction. BTW,a good portion of these officers are Veterans.
Thanks for posting - great video. Hat’s off to Officer Owens and the other members of the PD who succeeded in stopping the murderer.
