Finnish politician under ‘hate crime investigation’ for sharing Bible verse on Facebook

Police are investigating a Christian politician in Finland for an alleged “hate crime” because she shared a Bible verse on Facebook to criticize a national church that participated in LGBT Pride festivities.

In the post, congresswoman Päivi Räsänen, a Christian Democrat, criticized the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland for participating in the Helsinki LGBT Pride events in June. Her criticism was alongside a picture of Romans 1:24-27 that describes same-sex relationships as “shameful.”

Her post made Räsänen the subject of a pretrial investigation by the Finnish Police for a suspected incitement against sexual and gender minorities.

“The pre-trial investigations have not yet been completed. Police will provide more details once the investigations have been completed or presented to a prosecutor for consideration of charges,” the Helsinki Police Department officer in charge of the investigation told the Helsinki Times.

Räsänen, who is a member of and is married to a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland (ELCF), came under fire for her June Facebook post: “How can the church’s doctrinal foundation, the Bible, be compatible with the lifting up of shame and sin as a subject of pride? #LGBT #HelsinkiPride2019.” …

People who have departed from the knowledge of the Lord apparently don’t like to be told that this thing they are doing or championing can be a literal sign to them and to others about the condition of their hearts and minds.

My gosh - is there any country “they” don’t infect with their stupidity?

How long before we see the same thing here? We all know it will. “They” just can’t help themselves.

“You have to be wrong because we are right.”
“We do not countenance an opposing opinion.”

The Lord never said it was going to be easy to be a Christian.

It’s already happening here at the local level. Tons of bakers, photographers, florists, farms, whatever have been fined/regulated out of business for not bowing to the gay god.

The Lord never said it was going to be easy to be a Christian.

But wasn't something said along the lines of "The world will hate you"
John 15:18 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first."

Forgot to include 15:19. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Power, like anything else, tends to go to those who crave it the most. Unfortunately, these tend to be those who abuse it the most. Preventing that from happening requires perpetual vigilance.

No problems with this... We LGBTQs need to be protected from hate. Especially the type of hate that is spouted by those degenerate, despicable, deplorable Christians that disapprove of our existence. We did not make ourselves this way! We were born this way. There is no room for hate. And if Christians don't like that then maybe we should put them all in slave labor camps, starve them and work their filthy bodies to death slowly. And feed all their children to the lions, or put them in wood chippers. Right in front of their oh so holy Christian eyes! And burn down all their houses of worship with the congregations trapped inside!

That would show them that there is no room for hate!

seems pretty clear ...

Romans 1:24-27
24 jTherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, kto dishonor their bodies lamong themselves, 25 who exchanged mthe truth of God nfor the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to ovile passions. For even their 9women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the 1men, leaving the natural use of the 2woman, burned in their lust for one another, 1men with 1men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

“Hate Crime” = Thoughtcrime

It’s coming for all of us. Only a matter of time before the haters begin enforcing laws against Jesus here.

It sounds very much that the left is once again marching towards the criminalization of Christianity. They’ve done it before.

The woman quoted the Bible. Is the Bible soon to be a banned book in Finland?

" . . . for a suspected incitement against sexual and gender minorities"

So is ANY statement of moral belief an "incitement" against someone? If so, isn't the criticism of Christian doctrine an "incitement" against Christians? The woman did not encourage anyone to attack homosexuals; she only said that - according to the Bible - homosexual actions are a sin, and that Christians should not participate in events that condone or "celebrate" homosexual behavior. She was not threatening anyone.
