Donald Trump offered his first defense of his new policy that cracks down on immigrants on food stamps seeking green cards, arguing tax payers should not have to pay for people to come into the country and 'immediately go on welfare.'
'I'm tired of seeing our taxpayer paying for people to come into the country and immediately go on to welfare and various other things,' the president told reporters in New Jersey where he is spending a few weeks at his Trump National Golf Course Bedminister. 'I think we're doing it right.'
He noted: 'I don't think it's fair to have the American taxpayer. It's about Americans first. It's not fair to have the American taxpayer pay for people to come into the United States.'

Everyone with 2 brain cells has to understand that the generous welfare benefits that the left showers on illegal immigrants is the main reason the whole world wants to come here legally and illegally.
The left hates Donald Trump so bad because he states the obvious truth and will not back down and makes the open borders grifters look ridiculous.

Let's be honest, if all the immigrants, illegal or otherwise, voted overwhelmingly Republican, the Democrats would shut the border down so fast it would make your head spin.

well, he’s right
aside from genuine refugee cases, it used to be to get into USA you had to show you could take care of yourself (or had someone commit to do so..) so you would NOT become a public charge (at which time, you were subject to repatriation)
we used to have a number of policies that were correct and which worked rather well....
