Yep. Lock up the crazies. They kill by arson, knife, fist, car, poison, bombs, etc

How do they know who has a gun, what model of gun, and how many? Does California have a purchase registry the rest of the country doesn’t have?

It sounds like family members turned them in.
But the accused apparently got no opportunity to give their side,

“...taking away hundreds of guns from those who shouldn’t have them...”

And the Progressive Left/Democrat Party considers any free citizen of the United States to be someone who shouldn’t have a gun.

What is very scary is when the gooberment starts taking under the Red Flag scenario, people will make negative comments about the gooberment action. Under red flag, the gooberment will consider it a threat and act accordingly.

And in the south, Black Lives Matter thugs are getting thrown in state prison. Last one got 5 to 10 for attempted murder. Convicted under the state’s anti-klan law. Jesse Jackson had a fit.

Wouldn’t this be considered an ex post facto law? I mean, the people had the guns before the law was enacted. How can the Gestapo enforce it against an existing condition?

“How do they know who has a gun...? Does California have a purchase registry the rest of the country doesn’t have?” [monkeybrau, post 23]

I’m guessing your tone is sarcastic, but the answer to your second question is “Yes.”

Anti-gun activists have been hammering away at California for a very long time. As a junior officer in the Air Force, I was assigned there during the 1970s and purchased several firearms. Handgun buyers had to comply with a 15-day waiting period then, but long guns were subject to no restrictions I can recall.

It never stops. Over the past decade or so, the State of California has built up an entire regulatory structure controlling firearms ownership that parallels and imitates the federal regulatory structure. And adds further restrictions. Federally licensed gun dealers in other states may not transfer firearms to federally licensed dealers in California unless they apply for and receive “approval” from the California Dept of Justice. Numerous FFL holders in other states simply quit shipping guns into California.

All “assault weapons” were supposed to have been revealed to authorities and duly registered as being possessed by owners as of a couple years ago. Word in the trade was that compliance was not very big as a percentage. And the list was arbitrarily created by Cal DOJ, and subject to revision without notice.

This past year, the California legislature enacted a law requiring all purchases of ammunition to be recorded officially and conducted through a federally licensed dealer: interstate sales supposedly ended. Users who purchase online from out of state vendors are now breaking the law.

Anti-gun activists like this city attorney in San Diego are entirely out of contact with reality; they congratulate themselves on “saving lives,” but know nothing about either crime, nor the gun trade (legal or otherwise); they aren’t helping, and may be making things worse. But most of us already know that.

Yup. Officials can SWAT you, family that hates you can SWAT you, neighbors that have grudges against you can SWAT you, and political opponents/adversaries can SWAT you. If you are on a conservative donor list, they will hire peopleto submit false claims to SWAT you.

They know this is easily abused despite any assurances of protection from abuse. the guns will be gone and you wont get them back. you cant sue for damages, cant demand jail time for conspiracy to deprive constitutional rights.

“From those that shouldn’t have them”
A term that should scare the hell out of you.

It does scare me when the government is the deciding factor...

That said, I know a few folks who should not have them.

And there's got to be at least 100 million people in this country that think you shouldn't have any guns. I guess it's a good thing that it doesn't matter what other people think when it comes to our God given rights. LOL

May be true - I’m talking some serious mental and behavioral issues..
Do you not believe such people exist or was the Left right when it decided nobody need to be institutionalized for their own, and other’s safety?
