They had that one season of almost perfect football under fatty Mangino and started selling T-shirts that said “KU Football — A Winning Tradition since August.
I was there in the late sixties with Bobby Douglas, John Riggins and his brother Junior and their run at the Orange Bowl. Lived next door and played cards every day with John Zook and Joe Joe White.
I always say, just wait boys, Round Ball is comin’.
