SPRINGFIELD — Country rock band Confederate Railroad has been barred from performing at an Illinois state fair because of its use of the Confederate flag, setting off a firestorm by southern Illinois fans who believe they’re under Chicago liberals’ thumb of political correctness.
The band was scheduled to appear Aug. 27 at the DuQuoin State Fair , but Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s administration canceled the appearance last week.
“This administration’s guiding principle is that the state of Illinois will not use state resources to promote symbols of racism,” Pritzker spokeswoman Emily Bittner said. “Symbols of hate cannot and will not represent the values of the Land of Lincoln.”

This is huge. They swear to shun the Democrat party.
Corruption is a better representation for the land of Lincoln, both while Lincoln was in office, and after, as well as having a permanent place in Chicago and Illinois politics in general.
Washington DC was already corrupt in 1860, but Lincoln made it even more corrupt.
In the early 1980s, when Joel Garreau wrote “The Nine Nations of North America,” which organized the cultures of the USA and Canada into separate “nations,” he included the part of Illinois south of Springfield in the Southern nation, “Dixie.” Therefore a Confederate flag at this concert should be all right, even though Illinois was on the other side in the Civil War.
Not only that but Lincoln himself was a flaming racist.
A lot of those southern white good ol boy red necks are Democrats and will jump ship on this one.

Mr. Creosote! LOL! I don’t normally care to make fun of people because of their weight, but I’ll make an exception for this sanctimonious putz. He recently signed off on one of the most wide-open abortion laws in the country, and he gets all rightlteous and lectures on values?
I wonder if he has a problem with the band’s name, too. If so, then Dixie Chicks (are they still around?) and Lady Antebellum should also be banned from fairs in Illinois.
