...and so the TRUTH starts to leak out, ever so slowly.
I just feel terrible for all the people who suffered horribly because they listened to the ‘experts’.
Its basically what I,do.
The longer the fast period, the better the benefits.
Not much harder to do 18:6.
I do intermitten fasting. I only eat between noon and 6. I cant tell that its done anything for me other than maintain my weight. And Ive been doing it awhile. But!! I havent found anything that works for me. Part of it is my back is so bad I cant exercise.
Yes, like being told to eat well over 100 gms of carbs in a day - for a newly diagnosed diabetic! This happened to one of my friends just within the year, so it is still going on for sure.
Go over to YouTube and search for "Butter Bob Beggs" Guy lost 150 pounds and talks a lot about fat and fasting, interesting story teller.
There are a lot of doctors catching on to this idea.
a video I watched talked about slowly working up to the 14-16 hr fast....it doesn’t have to be cold turkey, although that’s tasty too.
Swedish researchers found a half hour a day walking helps minimize diabetes as well.
Using intermittent fasting and a half hour of exercise every day, you can probably keep most of the effects off.
Probably wise for most people, especially if you havent done that kind of thing before.

I had read that there are doctors who say something like: “Sure, very low carb is promising, but if I go against the ADA and government guidelines, I risk being sued and losing everything - so I’m playing it safe”.
...and keep in mind, all that it takes is a doctor recommending very low carb, and then a patient not abiding by it, and therefore getting sicker - but all the patient has to do to hit the jackpot at that point is CLAIM that they followed the very low carb diet, and the doctor is in trouble.
Ive been doing this for years and highly recommend

I came in slow too. First skipping breakfast - not too hard, then skipping lunch too, and then finally taking the plunge and also skipping dinner. Then slowly adding days. My highest is now 10 days on water and black coffee. Shorter fasts are routine for me, not even a second thought. Just getting to about 3 days without eating simply resets the body, including bringing insulin resistance back to normal (which is what’s needed to control blood sugar).
And while I have no sign of elevated blood sugar, I actually do the above to simply lose weight, because when I do eat, I GO TO TOWN!
I fast from about 9 o’clock at night until 6 am the next morning. Works for me.
Even 12 hours of not eating is a good start. Especially if you dont have a weight problem.
And the most important thing is not to break the fast with anything but protein. Have an egg first, not pancakes or donuts.

I think fat is fine too, at least according to the videos out there, but definitely NOT carbs (and that includes sugar, whole grain, fruits, etc.). In fact, the longer one can abstain from carbs, even if not fasting, the more benefit they will get.
The more I move away from what the diet “experts” preach, the healthier I am.

Agree, and if they weren’t so ARROGANT about this, we would have been here decades ago. Dr. Atkins had this figured out in the 1970s and BEGGED the medical community to do studies on it. And they simply refused. Now, with YouTube not yet censoring this stuff, the truth is FINALLY coming out.
The only carbs you need are those that feed the gut bugs. And 1/2 c a day of root veggies would be enough. Or even put inulin or potato starch, only 1 tbsp, into your cold drink.
However, if your weight is good, you work out, and youre healthy, you can eat more veggies and even 1/2 c of fruit a day, like berries. You can have seeds or nuts, and even a tbsp of oats. I do. But no processed carbs or sugars at all.
