The 1776 Flag Isn't the Problem. Anti-American Leftists Are.
PJ Media ^ | 07/05/2019 | Bryan Preston

Colin Kaepernick’s history teachers should be ashamed of themselves. They either failed to teach him real history, or they succeeded in indoctrinating him into a false political narrative. Either way, he was short-changed and missed out on one of history’s greatest stories. To associate the 1776 American flag with slavery is to miss the purpose and genius of the American Revolution.

The former football player turned well-paid corporate activist put the kibosh on a special edition Nike shoe because it sported the Betsy Ross flag on the heel. I’m sure you’ve heard that much. Kaepernick’s reason, which I’m sure you’ve also heard, is that in his mind the 1776-era American flag “represents an era associated with slavery.”

That’s so clueless it’s difficult to know where to start. Slavery was abhorrent and did exist in the colonial era, and for decades afterward. Slavery existed for millennia before there were any colonists in America, and unfortunately, it still exists now. Slavery did not solely exist in America in 1776. It was not uniquely American. And the American Revolution was not fought for or about slavery.

The flag of Betsy Ross – who as a Facebook friend noted should be re-branded as an empowered woman business leader and cutting-edge designer of her era – represents much more than Kaepernick’s tunnel-vision misunderstanding of history.

The American Revolution took place in the context of an age of revolutions against monarchy and hereditary government. It set in motion a series of events that turned the average person into a citizen rather than a subject. This was a deeply profound paradigm shift in the human mind and condition, we can scarcely understand how profound today.

Slavery vexed America’s founders. They wrestled with how to deal with what was a ghastly legal and economic reality, mostly located in one region of the fledgling country, while attempting to build a federation of weak, thinly populated and war-weary states in the New World. They made their long-term intentions quite clear in the opening to the Declaration of Independence signed July 4, 1776, in the phrase “all men are created equal.” “Men,” here, meaning “human,” not a gender-specific identifier. They added that we are “endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights.”

All of this language was profoundly radical in its time. Kings and queens still strode most of the world, and the “divine right of kings” to rule as they pleased was a weakening but still serious idea. The American Revolution carried a deeply anti-authoritarian, pro-humanitarian character in its DNA. If our rights do not come from government or an occupant of a throne, if they are inalienable as the Declaration asserts, if we are all created equal, we the people are truly greater than our government. We do not serve it. It serves us. We vote it in. We vote it out. And as the Declaration states, we can end a government that no longer serves the people. This language flips the world’s existing power order on its head. And the founders were just getting started.

Among other things, the 13 stars on Ross’ flag represent the art and power of compromise. The colonies disagreed deeply on many issues. Slavery was a key source of disagreement. Most of the founders opposed it but knew they could not forge a new nation and abolish slavery at the same time. The founders compromised with each other, as did the colonies they represented, and engineered a system they could all live with and which would, some day, have to settle slavery once and for all. It’s a near miracle all 13 colonies agreed on enough to be united symbolically on the flag. Fourscore and seven years later, a scholarly president declared the nation had been re-forged – without slavery, a sin paid for in blood. The idea of citizenship wasn’t perfected even then, and we would have to get past Reconstruction, the awful era of Jim Crow and to today – and we’re still debating the inalienable right to life.

The founders did not get everything perfect in 1776. They knew this better than we do. Winning independence was not the end, but the beginning. But they also understood they were creating a constitutional system which would allow a perfecting of freedom to begin. It was an experiment. They did not know if it would succeed, or last more than a generation or two after them.

It has, but our system needs an educated and virtuous citizenry to function. The founders understood this too. Nike’s capitulation to Kaepernick, followed by support by the likes of Democratic presidential candidate Julian Castro and several in the media, would trouble them far more than the flag they fought for did.

Conservatives are still spending time and treasure debating it but the left marches on leaving legions of dead babies in it’s wake.

I’d like to see a timeline of this “controversy.” It doesn’t pass the smell test.

How many shoes were actually produced? When did the mediocre ex-QB find out about the shoes? Does he have final vote for any and all Nike products? Does Nike have any other celebrity spokespeople? Do they each have a ‘say-so’?

Huge publicity stunt?

Teachers should be ashamed of themselves. They succeeded in indoctrinating a false political narrative.

Of course that is what they set out to do as instructed by their 'teachers' the left wingers of the '60's that we should have euthanized at that time.

There is no need to keep explaining history to these people as they will only deny it. There is no chattel slavery in this country. My ancestors fought to end it. Shut up already. Maybe we should start destroying statues and monuments like the left does and then insist there never was slavery in this country and dare anyone to prove otherwise.

Kaepernick knows full well what he believes in, and what he supports. That is, cop killing and communist revolution.

"On May 1st, May Day [1969], the day of the gigantic Free Huey [Newton] rally, two of Alioto's top executioners vamped on the brothers from the Brown Community who were attending to their own affairs. These brothers, who are endowed with the revolutionary spirit of the Black Panther Party defended themselves from the racist pig gestapo [the police].

Pig Joseph Brodnik received his just reward with a big hole in the chest. Pig Paul McGoran got his in the mouth which was not quite enough to off him.

The revolutionary brothers escaped the huge swarm of pigs with dogs, mace, tanks and helicopters, proving once again that "the spirit of the people is greater than the man's technology."

To these brothers the revolutionary people of racist America want to say, by your revolutionary deed you are heroes, and that you are always welcome to our camp."

Beyonce's Super Bowl 50 halftime tribute to the communist-revolutionary Black Panther, cop-killing terrorist group

Meet the [35] Police Officers Murdered by the Black Panthers [and BP offshoot Black Liberation Army]

The Professional Gunfighter
Posted in: News, Politics, Terrorism

Below are the names and photos of 35 Police Officers who were murdered by the Black Panthers and the subsequent Black Liberation Army in the 60s, 70s and 80s [click link for list and details].

The Black Liberation Army was an organization that grew out of the Black Panther Party, composed of former Black Panther Party members, operating from about 1971-1980. Another two police officers on the list were murdered by the Weather Underground, a domestic terrorist group with ties to the Black Liberation Army.

Despite this readily available information, today the internet was full of articles criticizing those who were upset by Beyonce’s Super Bowl Halftime performance, and questioning how anyone could be upset over a woman “affirming her blackness.” Their analysis couldn’t have been more off.

We have no issues with someone “affirming their blackness” or any other identity they want to affirm. We do take issue when people pay homage to a group that used terrorism and violence to promote racism and revolutionary socialism – a group that murdered dozens of police officers in cold blood.

As you scroll through the list of officers below, look at their photos and read their stories. Among these officers are black men and white men. Rookies and veterans from across the country. Most were killed in unprovoked attacks and ambushes. They all left behind families….

Perhaps Beyonce, someone from the NFL, and someone representing CBS, could read through this list and tell us if they still stand by their decision to honor the Black Panthers during the Super Bowl. Then perhaps they could explain their answers to the surviving wives and children of these fallen officers. ...”

America: NOT perfect, simply the best.

Kaepernick's movement is led by people who admire, even worship, mass murderers such as Mao tse-Tung. 10s of millions of people living under his communist rule were killed or left to die during the "Cultural Revolution" and "Great Leap Forward". The 1960-70s Black Panther terrorist group that he so greatly admires were Maoist. In fact, nearly all the communist in and around today's democrat party are Maoists.

Kids are graduating from high school and in many cases from college barely able or sometimes unable to read. They live on the web and get everything, school information and their news from videos. Before I retired about 1 of every 4 engineering hires were unable to write a complete sentence. I had to fire a guy who refused to write complete English sentences in emails to out Government sponsors. He refused to use anything but texting shortcuts. We lost programs so I fired his a$$.
That turned a few of the others around.

Trump Jr. blasts Nike with photo of Soviet-style shoe design: 'More in line with their views'

FoxNews.com ^ | July 3, 2019 | Sam Dorman | Fox News

Donald Trump Jr. had a scathing critique of the athletic company Nike after it decided to pull a sneaker bearing a flag used during the American Revolution.

Instead of using that older version of the American flag, Trump Jr. suggested Nike should unveil a communist-style shoe looking similar to the hammer-and-sickle logo of the former Soviet Union.

"If the Betsy Ross Flag, the flag of the American Revolution, is too offensive for Nike to commemorate The 4th of July maybe Nike should go with this... seems to be more in line with their views," Trump Jr. tweeted on Wednesday.

His attack came as Nike faced mounting criticism over its decision to halt the release of a shoe that had the Betsy Ross flag because it could "unintentionally offend" people.

‘It was a little nod to Kaepernick’: Megan Rapinoe kneels for Star-Spangled Banner

World Cup winner says gesture was ‘very intentional’

Rapinoe says it is important for white and black athletes to stand together

On Sunday, Rapinoe said her gesture was a nod towards Kaepernick.

“It was very intentional,” Rapinoe told American Soccer Now after the game.

“It was a little nod to Kaepernick and everything that he’s standing for right now.

I think it’s actually pretty disgusting the way he was treated and the way that a lot of the media has covered it and made it about something that it absolutely isn’t.

More than a few times, the NFL has not allowed patriotic American symbols, no matter how small, when sought by patriotic players, to be included on any part of the uniform, even after significant loss of American life type events and acts of war against the U.S.

But they spend huge money to champion the marxist Black Panthers (halftime show), who murdered at least 35 police officers... Nice /s

And by embracing the anti-American Marxist, by extension, Nike has decided to champion the same anti-American Black Panthers who killed many police officers.

Who Is Doing the Community Organizing for Black Lives Matter Spectacle?

by Dave Blount, June 5, 2015 [during Obama administration]

Not many Black Lives Matter morons would have the initiative to get a poster printed. But it's no mystery where they get the signs that they jab in the air as they chant "What do we want? Dead cops!" The supplier is printed right across the bottom: revcom.us .

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

'Rev' is for revolutionary.
'Com' is for communist
.

Revcom.us bills itself as "the voice of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA." The explicit objective is to overthrow our constitutional republic and replace it with an oligarchical collectivist dictatorship along the lines of North Korea and the Soviet Union.

Why would advocates of a communist police state agitate against the police? Because as leftists used to admit openly, the issue is never the issue.. This isn't about the police, any more than it is about blacks. It is about destabilizing the system so as to create opportunities to weaken it and eventually overthrow it.

That's what community organizing boils down to. These people have taken over the executive branch of the federal government; why would they stop there?

The next hill they take will be federal control of local police. After that, things will start to get scary.

And we have said that building our party itself is the most important part of organizing forces for revolution. This is true now, and it is true looking forward to the creation of that future R.A.P. and the waging of that armed struggle.":

The 1992 LA/Rodney King riots were instigated by the Revolutionary Communist Party...

From David Horowitz's FrontpageMag.com /DiscoverTheNetworks.org:

"Throughout its history, one of RCP's [Revolutionary Communist Party] principal objectives has been to foment civil unrest in the United States. The most notable example of such efforts occurred on April 29, 1992, when RCP members looted and trashed the downtown and government districts of Los Angeles, triggering the infamous Rodney King riots. During the days immediately preceding the violence, RCP -- which maintained close ties to the L.A. gangs known as the Crips and the Bloods -- had circulated throughout South Central Los Angeles a leaflet featuring a statement by RCP National Spokesman Carl Dix, titled 'It's Right To Rebel' -- a quote popularized by Mao Zedong.

Encouraged by Dix, RCP activists helped lead the riots that would leave 58 people dead, more than 2,300 people injured, some 5,300 buildings burned, and $1 billion in property damaged or destroyed. On the ten-year anniversary of the rioting, RCP member Joseph Veale fondly recalled the violence as 'the most beautiful, the most heroic civil action in the history of the United States.'"

"The RCP upheld the 1992 sometimes-violent unrest in Los Angeles and nationally as a "rebellion" in the aftermath of the Rodney King verdicts.

Then-LAPD chief Daryl Gates alleged that the RCP was involved in the "riots".

Los Angeles has long been one of the RCP's larger and more active branches.

William "Mobile" Shaw was a local leader who recently passed and received public commendation from the party."

Death

On August 22, 1989, [Huey] Newton was murdered in the neighborhood of Lower Bottoms, in West Oakland, California.

Within days, Tyrone Robinson was arrested as a suspect; he was on parole and admitted to the murder to police, claiming self-defense.

Police found no evidence that Newton was carrying a gun.[62]

Robinson was convicted of first-degree murder in 1991 and sentenced to a prison term of 32 years to life.

Robinson’s motive was to advance in the Black Guerrilla Family, a narcotics prison gang, in order to get a crack franchise.[62][63]
