Good grief. Give up the fake history. Robert Byrd had abandoned any connection with the KKK decades before that picture was taken and he was never a “Grand Wizard” anyway.
This recent hobby of trying to outdo the Left at playing pin the tail on the racist is a truly stupid development.
The Democrats will be the very first to eviscerate someone for something they said or did decades ago, even if they've conducted themselves well since then. They don't care.
That's right. And an Exalted Cyclops was the local Klan leader (not a leader, but the leader). It was a big-shot position.
So yeah, Byrd was not just some guy sitting in the back row of a Klan meeting. He was running the meeting. Funny how Democrats never seem to mention that.

As others have noted, Byrd was an Exalted Cyclops. That’s a pretty big deal (see my post #8). So I must respectfully disagree with you.
Suppose some Republican had wandered into a Klan meeting by mistake or out of curiosity. The media would NEVER forgive that. Well, Byrd didn’t just wander into a Klan meeting. He was actually running the Klan meeting.
You’ve got to be a pretty hard-core racist to be doing that.
Oh, and one more thing. Byrd left the Klan not because he saw the light. He left because he realized that being in the Klan would be harmful politically.

And plenty of Republican politicians in the upper Midwest and the far West supported the Klan in the late 19teens and 1920s. So use your CAPs shouting on someone as butt-ignorant as you are, it works better that way.

I agree 100%. See my post #15. If statues of Robert E. Lee must come down, then Byrd must be erased as well. Fair is fair.
