Unidentified; Inside America was on TV tonight, History channel. It’s a series so you can catch the next episodes. While you are waiting for “are you logged on?” answers , do a DuckDuckGo search for info on the program.
I’m not surprised...this didn’t seem random...it seemed like a formation.
Aircraft with take off/landing lights on.
When in Savannah, my astronomy club would would go out to the beach for programs out on the pier. If you looked south, you could see the planes taking off from Jacksonville, about 120 miles south. They would disappear about 5 minutes after they got over the horizon, then about 20 minutes later, they would fly over.
Could also be sounding balloons catching the last of the sunlight at high altitude.
Fairly common.
i lived on an air force base for years...this was at high altitude and had characteristics of a satellite. what got me was how bright they were...so obvious in the sky and moving slowly, then fading. these were not airplanes...no doubt.
Could it have been the ISS?
i thought that but what was trailing it? there were two lights, one behind the other. who knows, could have been mile apart but to my eye, they were traveling together. is there anything traveling in tandem with the ISS?
I told my wife this post was coming...it was just a matter of time. lol

Satellites? Get Heaven’s Above (or go to the website). You can get satellite predictions for your area. Won’t help with this event, but, maybe the next one.
folks I’m serious and you’re all posting jokes. something was up there and I’ve not seen it before in all the years I’ve lived here. I’ll have to research it in the morning...mean time don’t stop having fun with it if you must. haha
Not sure if it’s related but the gov just launched 20 or so says in a falcon heavy.
About 10 years ago, I was getting ready for work at 4:30 in the morning. Went outside onto my patio while sipping a cup of coffee, looked up into the sky and spotted what I thought was Venus. This is a very rural area. After a moment or so the stationary bright star like object suddenly darted to the right at high speed and disappeared behind the roof line of my house. It wasn’t Venus.

When a supply ship is approaching or departing the ISS, it looks exactly like you describe.
