Yes, true, but the story didn’t quite seem that’s what had been done. Why not say it that way? Maybe something more like this, *I thought something was strange when I stirred the pot, so I emptied the spinach into a bowl. That’s when I saw the beak.*

No, not New Mexico - Maryland.
I like spinach, especially in things like spanikopita. But I can usually tell if fresh spinach was used as opposed to frozen or canned. Frozen can be useful in recipes; but I just can’t tolerate canned.

Yeah, I grew up on canned spinach. Put a little black pepper and a pat of butter on that and I can eat a whole can.
