At this moment we have a PA Game Commission bear trap sitting out behind our shed. They trapped a male bear and took it away Saturday and brought the trap back on Monday. We hope they will catch more of the 8 or 9 black bears wandering around here. Yesterday on of the bears - 200+ lb damaged a peach tree here and we’ve had muddy black bear footprints on our basement and front doors. Summer people, idiots and tourists come here and feed the bears or don’t keep garbage where the bears aren’t attracted to it. Where are we? Smack dab in the middle of Pike County, north of I-84 - the county on the border with NY and NJ. So if you hunt, PA Game Commission hunting lands are just north and east of us.
