This is the problem with today’s piss poor education. “Men” is a noun which, depending on context, could mean ‘men and women’ or just adults in general.
So Men In Black would include women in black as well in this context. She shows her ignorance with this statement. I’m not necessarily blaming her but would advise her to get educated on this subject before further embarrassment.
We all know what this all about. Women empowerment or “women power” for short. Certain women all over the world, especially in western societies, are trying to push men out of leadership so they can take over to prove they are somehow better at screwing up the world than men are.

Lifeforms in Black. Why discriminate against non-humans? How about "Things in Black"!
Why discriminate against inanimate objects?

How about Misandrists in Black? Then they can keep the MiB short name.

Thanks. Looks like it might be fun. Hope it’s not the usual case of the only good parts are in the trailer. ;)

How about, “Pretentious, Sexually-Confused, Hollywood Assholes in Black?” At least it would be accurate.

Just call it “Idiots in Black” ~ that would be truth in advertising.

Phuck, why not just call it “Black?” You can’t discriminate against the dead, can you?
Oh, “Black” is discriminatory? Then call it “White.”
I am getting to the point of not giving AF, as most of what comes out of Hollyweird lately is not creative - it is either remakes (with terrible “interpretations” of the original) or just plain crap.

"Tessa Thompson . . . said she wants to see the franchise's name changed at some point to make it more inclusive for women."
That's silly. The point of the title is that "Men in Black" is the already existing pop culture phrase referring to the agents of a suspected organization that covers up extraterrestrial encountersagents described to be men always dressed in black suits. Changing the title would eliminate the pop-culture reference.
That would be as silly as changing the title of "Gone With the Wind," (a preexisting popular expression meaning 'disappeared, evaporated, vanished, gone forever') to "Scarlet O'Hara." The second title is equally valid. The second title even puts the female central character in a place of prominence. But, the second title uses the popular expression to give the reader a sense of what the movie is about (loss-of innocence, a way of life, love, etc. . . . ).
Tessa's logic would change the title of "All the President's Men" (a reference to the "All the King's Men" of the nursery rhyme who famously could not repair a situation) to "All the President's People;" would change the title of "Of Mice and Men" (a reference to the popular phrase "the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry"See Robert Burns' "To a Mouse") to "Of Mice and People."

The cognitive dissonance snowflakes experience with quotes like the one you supplied is kinda funny.
I was nearby when charecters in a movie circa 1975 referred to two males marrying. A young SJWs jaw dropped and he actually said “no way...what? They think they woke the world. They have no idea they are being used by people who only want POWER.

The original MIB was clever, the sequels unnecessary. This sort of endless “franchising” is a sign of just how risk-averse and lacking in imagination Hollywood remains.
