CLOVIS, NM (KCBD) - 27-year-old Mary Jeffs is in a Lubbock medical facility with critical injuries after officials say she deliberately laid down in the westbound lane of 1379 US 60/84.
The Curry County Sheriffs office reports that Jeffs had been drinking when she walked from a residence and laid down in the westbound lane.
She was struck by a Lubbock driver in a 2015 GMC Yukon who immediately called 911 and returned to the scene.
Before that driver could return, Jeffs was struck by a second vehicle, a 2019 Mazda 3.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Don’t do drugs, kids.
Probably put a real hurting on that Mazda 3.
NM ping list.
More insanity from NM;
If she survives, the Dems will probably run her for the Legislature.
If she dies, she will be voting for the Democrats for the next 100 years.
I hope the car is ok. The truck was likely good to go.
Depression may have been involved.
But then kill yourself. Don’t make others feel awful for a long time.
Not that all would.
Getting hit by two vehicles sure does a number on the eyebrows.
Loonie, Looney, Lunee.
LOL!....I thought the same thing!!!!!!.............
Is that picture Before or After she was hit twice?
Mary Jeffs: “Ow my boobs.”
A professional speed bump. Her parents must be so proud.
Would have been better if it was Clovis Man as he died thousands of years ago.
Yea, I don’t think that Mazda 3 stood a chance.
Is anyone else quite tired of all these nuts????
Anybody remember the movie Varsity Blues? They had to cut a scene because there were copycats that got people hurt (maybe killed). In the scene those whacky kids lay down on the center line on a two lane road at night as cars whiz by.
In the real live copycats, the cars do what cars do on back roads at night. They don’t pay much attention to the center line and, squish...
She has been listening to AOC...
Like hitting a dead deer in the road. You’re bumper is gonna pay a price.
Is that her? Her snarly attitude can be felt just looking at her expression. Whatever happened, it wasn’t her fault!
I’ll bet she’s not snarling now
