Lori Loughlin and husband Mossimo Giannulli are actively involved in their defense after being charged in the college admissions scandal, a source familiar with their cases tells PEOPLE.

“They’re both very type A,” says the source, “and they’re figuring out what to do next. They are both mounting a vigorous defense against the charges.

Sounds like their legal bill is going to be filled with hours upon hours of phone calls, and they will wonder how it could possibly be so high.

Maybe they should have spent more energy making sure their kid wasn’t dumber than a post.

"The more money you got, the more justice you can buy."

Unless, of course, you're targeted by the slime who have a bottomless checkbook of taxpayer money.

Then, you have to get lucky, like the Bundys.

Nothing like a little bit of hubris to make a jury love you.

They should save their money to pay for protection on the inside.

I don’t think they did anything wrong, people have been paying $$$ to get their kids into good schools forever.

They could get them on tax evasion, since they used the payments as a tax deduction- but that is also allowed.

UNLESS you cannot give a gift in anticipation of receiving something... ? (admission for her daughter)

Foolish to fight the Feds in court. Very high percentage losing proposition. If she truly is a type A personality then she has fallen into the trap of believing her own BS. More likely she is just used to getting her own way by being a bitch - that is not type A.

They haven’t gone for the quick payoff for blaming President Trump yet.

They could have hired private teachers for every subject and had their kid tutored one on one for every subject for less than what this will eventually cost them.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster. But then, they can always blame their lawyers for not controlling them.

There was a story going around just after the original blow-up that Lori Loughlin is/was a Trump supporter.

Might have been just smoke being blown.

Yah, I looked for that again before making that post. I think we would have heard all about it if she hadn’t supported BJ’s wife.

I wonder how Roseanne Barr likes being considered a conservative now?

They could have hired a drill instructor to take care of that part.

They’ll “say” thty thought they were “contributing to the school” for admitting their daughter.....but they got bigger
problems.

They were engaged in money laundering.

The bribes for admittance were not paid directly to the school.....they were “washed” through a phony “do-good” foundation, listed as “donations.”

The bribers now have tax problems b/c they listed the bribe as a “charitable donation to the fake foundation”

They even got written letters in return that said, “Thank you for your generous donation.”

To make the bribes appear legitimate they received receipts falsely indicating that “no goods or services were
exchanged” for their supposed donations to the foundation, according to authorities.

Loughlin and her husband allegedly hid their payments in two $200,000 wire transfers to the “charity” to get their daughters into USC.

There’s the not insignificant matter of taxes......and using the US mail to facilitate the fraud also comes with legal penalties.....as do wire-transfers.
