And carjackers will eventually be able to do the same. And they will be able to make the police following the Perp ineffectual.

Never drive it after dark or in the rain.

there will be preteen boys sitting on overpasses using devices to randomly mess with cars passing by on the freeways... this technology is really not well thought out in terms of dealing with real world

The only trick with old cars like that is to make sure you get a lead replacement in the fuel and a zinc replacement in the oil. Otherwise you wear out your bearings and your valve seats erode.

Seems like I saw a video on this - the cops using OnStar(?) to kill the car’s engine? (shut it down, that is)

123456 is the default password. Almost as dumb as Podesta’s PASSWORD.

Yeah onStar used to advertise that. Not sure if they still do that remote control stuff anymore.

My buddy’s pickup has remote start. I always tease him that one day soon, some high school kid would hack it. 60k for the damn truck is crazy.

[60k for the damn truck is crazy]

I agree. When they hit $50,000 I couldn’t believe it.

Remember all those “hot-rod” pickup trucks in the early 2000’s?

You hardly ever see them anymore. They were pretty high-priced as I recall. I did run across one for sale on Craigslist.

Of course, even the SUV’s that were plentiful back then have disappeared. I think a lot of stuff got destroyed by Cash For Clunkers. And that’s a shame.
