Attention-hungry people are faking vacations on Instagram

Looking to live the glamorous, well-traveled life — and stir envy among your Instagram followers — but can’t afford it? Well, now you can have a photo of yourself digitally altered to make it seem like you can.

A Nebraska-based photo-editing service named Fake A Vacation lets users send in snapshots to have them superimposed onto fake backgrounds. Options include a sandy beach in Maui, the rushing waters of Niagara Falls, even the Grand Canyon at sunset.

It may seem like a joke service, but lying about travel is a far more common practice than you may think.

According to a study released Wednesday that surveyed over 4,000 American adults over 18, flight cost-comparison Jetcost concluded that 14 percent of respondents fibbed to others about their flashy vacations. Ten percent of that pool even went the extra mile to post a fake on social media.

I think the service might also cover for those times people SAY they’re going to be one place, but actually spent that time at a different place:

In Japan at some hotels they have a small, buttoned panel featuring digital audio clips of train station noise, school, hospital, sports aerena, bus, heavy construction, etc.

There are no instructions, but people automatically understand:

That’s what you play for the background when you call a spouse, (real) GF, parents, whatever.

This is just more evidence of what Paul warned about in 2 Timothy 3:1-7:

"But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth."

The world acknowledges us as the "Selfie Generation," and every other attribute that Paul listed perfectly describes us today.

Those behaviors are certainly a recipe for ending a society. Pretty much describes progressives.

Added bonus:

They will send you a jar of bedbugs to distribute throughout your home...

Proof that one went on a vacation.

It does. But it also accurately describes our populations in general, including many who populate our churches - and those who (mis)lead them. A world that is slaughtering its children and denying its own biological identities didn't reach this point overnight, and God's forbearance cannot be presumed to last indefinitely.
