There was a disastrous collusion between the iceberg and the ship.

A fire in a coal bunker weakened the hull plates that collided with the iceberg. Fire and ice, fatal combination.
To: centurion316
That fire is also what made them run a a speed too fast for conditions. The Titanic was already on borrowed time.

Rough week. It commemorates Lincoln’s death, FDR’s, the sinking of the Titanic, the San Francisco quake. End of the week is Hitler’s birthday.

An elderly woman who survived the Titanic as an very young child spoke to my middle school classroom. This would have been in the mid seventies (in So. Calif).

One cruel day in a month tends to label the entire month cruel.

JPM's other invitees, Ben Guggenheim, Isa Strauss, and Jacob Astor, who
just coincidentally were against the establishment of the privately owned Federal Reserve that would control the US money supply, didn't get the message that their host had bowed out and maybe they should consider not sailing on the ship that was doomed (by man).
Captain Edward Smith saw his Master, Francis Browne, the most powerful Jesuit in all of Ireland, answerable directly to the General of the Jesuit Order in Rome, off at the last stop in Ireland before the crossing.
JPM and his clique got the US Congress to vote in the Federal Reserve in the dead-quiet halls of Washington, DC the day before Christmas eve, 1913.
And let's see a show of hands.... How many of you thought the Federal Reserve was a public federal agency?

April is a cruel month. Especially here in New England. It's supposed to be spring but most of the days are chilly with cold rain.
To: rx
I didn’t know all this. I just looked it up, and no surprise, Mrs. Straus was one of the four 1st class women to die on Titanic.

Well, undoubtedly.
CNN Journalist - Kenyan - dies in Kenya. Physical illness.
Some idiot over at Yahoo blames it on President Trump.
I am not making this up.

The best version I’ve ever watched. I don’t know how accurate it is but I watched probably 30 or 40 years ago.
