I wonder which movie has made the most money? I'm thinking Bohemian Rhapsody.

Bohemian Rhapsody made $213 million domestically. It was quite successful, the #12 movie of the year.

Black Panther, on the other hand, made $700 million, and was #1.

Just heard BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY for the very first time, complete with all the lyrics shown. What a nothing of nothings. Depression incarnate. I see that I never missed a damned thing. The most lyrical, melodic thing about it is the title. It really, really sux.

Good summary and well described. If you liked the music it’s a very worthwhile movie to see. They were a very talented group in their genre

I’m not thinking in terms of quality of the film Green Book. I’m thinking of the Academy members who would vote based on their own biases.

I had actually read parts of an existing copy of the real green book few months back. It was chilling, especially looking up cities I know and seeing how few “safe” places were listed. Here in Dallas, there was a very short list, sadly. Despite all those limitations, they managed and overcame adversity.

It took awhile to realize that the movie title referred to that book.

#67 So Carrie Fisher made 3 guys decide being gay was a better choice then being with her... : )
Her last husband Bryan Lourd and Freddie Mercury and David Bowie

BTW her mother Debbie Reynolds was ok with her taking drugs like marijuana. I am currently reading her bios and she herself drank and took valium and had 3 bad marriages and hundreds of lawsuits against her because of them and bad business investments. 300 just when she owned a casino for a few years.

Carrie Fisher of Star Wars Fame had sex with both Freddie Mercury and David Bowie

People want to act like nothing happened in the south 50-150 years ago and want to think the way it is today must be the way it was back then and anything that shows remotely what it was like is being “PC.” Well, no. It’s just truth in storytelling. I grew up with a great-grandmother (born 1892) who was a wonderful Christian woman, never touched a drop of alcohol, never cussed and would give you the shirt off her back. But when it came to blacks? Well, it was simple-they didn’t have a soul. That’s what she was taught by her Grandpa Cole, who’s dad owned the Cole plantation in Coffee County Alabama. To her and many people in the south her age (not all of course) they were no different than mules or oxen. To pretend that didn’t happen is “PC”

Well Spike Lee hates it, so maybe it’s pretty good after all.

FATAL ATTRACTION was a memorable movie in any case...

There was a sex scene between Michael Douglas and Glen Close in that film...

Huge upset. Olivia Coleman got rave reviews though. Looking forward to seeing her on the Crown as Queen Elizabeth.

Michael Medved’s Twitter comment:

The victory for #OliviaColman as Best Actress will (besting #GlenClose & #LadyCaga) counts as one of the greatest #Oscar upsets in history. I was not a fan of #TheFavourite, but Colman’s heartfelt, stunned, touching acceptance speech made her triumph a sweet surprise.

Loved Atomic Blonde but that’s because James McAvoy is in it.

That’s the talking point, iddn’t it?

Same as how Bowie was celebrated in the press at the time of his death as a gay man or bisexual man. He said if the label was going to follow him his whole life or be a key point of interviews he wouldn’t have been so public about his experimentation.

And Bowie and his wife took the virginity of a 13 year old groupie. Several minor females in his history. Doesn’t get the same ink as being in bed with Mick Jagger.

My problem with these movies dealing with race and all biographical movies in general or movies that say they’re based on real events is they’re sold as being factual when actually they’re not. They’re fiction and need to be seen as that. They’re stories told to make money, nothing more. And the more “hate whitey” they are, the better because they know they’ll get people to fall for it. They might be based on true events, it’s possible some parts of the story are true. But it’s more likely many parts are not, they’ve been embellished to make them sellable. Especially movies with dialogue and conversations—who was there to write down word for word what was said?

In the case of Bohemian Rhapsody Brian May was involved in the making of the film. Was it completely accurate, no. It was a great film though.
