Quick question: My son had a severe accident, someone flew over the median into his car and totalled it. He is ok but needs some surgery.
He needs to get his tires and rims off and put junk ones on. Where does one find junk tires and rims? Quickly size 5x114.3 lug

Ask a tire store. They may have takeoffs.

Couple years ago I got some at the Pick-a-part. Tire and wheel holding air for $27.50 each.
On just about any vehicle driven by a crimalien.
Any local auto wrecker/recycler will have lots, for a reasonable price.

A wrecking yard. But though the worn tires might be relatively cheap expect to pay top dollar for even used rims. Steel rims will be cheapest. If you just lookin to be able to move it. Check out used junk undersized temporary spares

Typically used tires run for $18.
A set of 4 rims will cost about $300, I think.
They are on display near checkout; these tires and rims are always used.
I bought several tires that kept leaking air. Made me crazy and the tire store couldn’t find leaks in the tires.
Turns out I had a cracked wheel rim. Be aware of that when buying junked rims.
Why bother? Count your blessings that he lived. Are his wheels expensive? Yes, you can find them on Craigslist, eBay, or junk yards. I don’t like junk yards because they charge too much. I’ve done pulls at junk yards but you have to shop around for inexpensive yards, and it’s hard to find uncommon stuff which is why I hit the ads for ease of searching. Usually people scrap junk rims unless they’re vintage.
I’m guessing that isn’t going to happen if the car is impounded
