The Big Dipper is not a constellation - it's an asterism. And the constellation it is in is Ursa Major (the Big Bear) . . . which doesn't really look like its supposed portrayal. :-)

I shot this image of the Orion nebula from a former location under significantly light polluted skies. This is a rather easy object to obtain images of due to the fact it's very bright compared to many other deep space objects. This nebula is like a stellar nursery where new stars are being formed.
