Eric Clapner, too. He is, IMO, the most overrated guitarist of all time. God, yeah, lol.
Most of them are overrated.
If it wasn’t for really good studio bands(Swampers, Wrecking Crew)and Phil Spector we probably wouldn’t be able to listen to them.
Programming.
Dave Grohl.
Milli Vanilli.
Bottom line eveyone has likes and dislikes.
Springsteen and Green Day definitely.
Being from NJ I guess we were supposed to be nuts for him..?? Never understood it.
Green Day touts themselves as punk but it’s sure not the punk I know. Then they showed their politics, no thanks.
Neil Young
Yeah, me too, but strangely enough, I agree with the rest on the list.
Of course, it is not hard to identify overrated musicians. The record companies promote them hard in an effort make money.
The video is cheesy, but it's a classic simply because the scene on the stoop was filmed at the same location in New York City's East Village that was on the cover of Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti album.
The Doors and Eric Clapton.

CCR’s “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” is great. They were very talented. I agree about Michael Jakson. He had some great singles, and great dances/videos, but much of the late 80s-2009 is just bland pop.
1a. Any and all hip-hop “artists.”
2. The Eagles. Southern-fried crap from the U.K.
3. Nickelback. Too easy, I know. But that ANYONE likes them means they’re over-rated.
4. Grateful Dead. No different than any open-mic night at your nearby coffee bar.
5. Oasis. Good. Not Beatles good.
6. Disco-era Rolling Stones. C’mon people, “I’m so ha ha ha; she’s so ha ha ha?” Really?
7. Bob Dylan. Giving him a pass on the fact that he can’t sing, what’s so special about his lyrics? He plagiarized most of them.
8. Carole King. Do you realize her “Tapestry” sold 25 million albums???
9. AC-DC. I needed one heavy-metal band, Sure, “You shook me” is a great fist-pumper, but they’re all french fries, no steak. You wanna defend, “Big Balls?” Even “Dirty Deeds?” Keep in mind, this isn’t “bands that suck.” This is “over-rated.” Do you realize they’re better selling the Rolling Stones?
10. Journey. Compare them to Foreigner, Boston, Kansas, Survivor. Then go read the lyrics to “Don’t Stop Believing.” Seriously.

Another stupid article where “overrated” just means hands I don’t like that much. Music is the art of affecting people emotionally with sound. If millions of people love a band’s music, and it is still popular decades later, it cannot be “overrated”.
The Stones have a half dozen all-time classic songs. The problem is the other 2,353 songs they recorded.
No one’s posted Lynyrd Skynrd yet?
Well let me be the first.
“And this bird you cannot cha-an-an-an-an-an-an-an-an-an-ange....”
Agree with Sprinsteen, Michael Jackson, and Nirvana ... but CCR, the Doors, and the Rolling Stones are overrated? Ridiculous!
He missed the biggest one:
The Beatles.
I liked Credence, and Three Dog Night, and the Four Wheel Drive.
Everybody thinks somebody is overrated.
That’s what you call ‘Freedom of Opinion’.
