Technically, it was Quattro (a WordPerfect product) which replaced Lotus 1-2-3. Not by sneak or stealth, but because it was a better product. Microsoft crushed WordPerfect not long after that. I think a shadow of the company still survives in Ireland or somewhere. Dell used to give away their suite with a new computer purchase. They may still do so.

Gates is pandering to the “crocodiles,” by lamenting his wealth, hoping to avoid being nailed by higher tax rates if the democrats get their way. It’s nothing more than a mendacious kabuki as in “I hate the fact that I’m rich, and I hope that this remark will inoculate me against higher taxes. But just in case, I also would love to pay more in taxes, but not voluntarily, only if there is a law requiring everyone to pay more, one that has loopholes I can easily avail myself of.”

Bill Gates, LOSER CLOWN DORK.

Microsoft forces OS on people who don't need or want new OS.
Microsoft is now forcing you to stop using software you own and you don't need any improvements on, so you must subscribe to it, monthly.
Complains he's too rich.
Complains he's too rich, doesn't give away his money, quietly or publicly.
Instead considers himself king and declares nobody should be that rich.
The Bill Gates Foundation won't fund health causes in “developed countries.”

You are spot on central_va, he does (or did) indeed love the H1B program. What is remarkable is the amount of money Bill Gates has given from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to organizations that are as corrupt as the day is long, and give money to causes that are antithetical to our values (American values)

Microsoft has given The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation over a BILLION dollars of MICROSOFT money (not the donations from the employees, that is a BILLION DOLLARS OF MATCHING FUNDS FROM MICROSOFT'S OWN FINANCIAL RESOURCES to the foundation.

WHAT YOU SEE BELOW IS DATA I HAVE LOOKED AT ON THE INTERNET BY GOING DIRECTLY TO THE BILL AND MELINDA GATES WEBSITE AND DOWNLOADING THEIR OWN DOCUMENTATION.

I did not make this up or take it from some blogger. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is quite proud of the money they get from these corporations, so while it took a little scratching to get to it, it is available to everyone to see with their own eyes.

Microsoft does a 1:1 match (or at least did a year or two when I looked this up) and gave $47 Million dollars to the foundation in 2014. (Since they began matching, they have given over a billion dollars. THAT IS A BILLION DOLLARS...I believe that is matching money, probably not including their corporate donations)

Other top donors to The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation are Apple, Exxon Mobile (Exxon Mobile gave over $269 million in 2014), GE, Soros Fund Management, GAP, State Street, Car Max, Johnson & Johnson, Boeing, Chevron, Disney, Google, The Home Depot, JP Morgan, Merck, Starbucks, State Farm and Verizon.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, in turn, gives money to the following (note this is the Foundation money donated to it from all sources, not just money directly from Microsoft):

Organization - Amount (US$ millions)

  1. GAVI Alliance 3,152.8
  2. World Health Organization 1,535.1
  3. The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria 777.6
  4. PATH 635.2
  5. United States Fund for UNICEF 461.1
  6. The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International 400.1
  7. International Bank for Reconstruction and Development 340.0
  8. Global Alliance for TB Drug Development 338.4
  9. Medicines for Malaria Venture 334.1
  10. PATH Vaccine Solutions 333.4
  11. UNICEF Headquarters 277.6
  12. Johns Hopkins University 265.4
  13. Aeras 227.6
  14. Clinton Health Access Initiative Inc 199.5
  15. International Development Association 174.7
  16. CARE 166.2
  17. World Health Organization Nigeria Country Office 166.1
  18. Agence française de développement 165.0
  19. Centro Internacional de Mejoramiento de Maíz y Trigo 153.1
  20. Cornell University 146.7
  21. Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa 146.4
  22. United Nations Foundation 143.0
  23. University of Washington Foundation 138.2
  24. Foundation for the National Institutes of Health 136.2
  25. Emory University 123.2
  26. University of California San Francisco 123.1
  27. Population Services International 122.5
  28. University of Oxford 117.8
  29. International Food Policy Research Institute 110.7
  30. International Institute of Tropical Agriculture 104.8

Some of those might not be bad, but there are some very bad ones.

For example, The Clinton Health Access Initiative. That is only a measly $199.5 million dollars. But that has been shown to be almost totally if not a total fraud and scam. How many of these others have large parts of their organizations that are equally corrupt? UNICEF? WHO? The International Bank? The United Nations Foundation????

The Rotary Foundation? Might not be bad, but WHO does The Rotary Foundation give money to? I haven't checked that.

Cornell, University of Oxford, John Hopkins et al might not be bad either, but that is open to debate when one sees what goes on in institutions of higher education.

But the rest of them look like a Murderer's Row of liberal, anti-American Entities, and few of us are going to argue that: World Health Organization, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, United States Fund for UNICEF, International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, UNICEF Headquarters, Clinton Health Access Initiative Inc, International Development Association, CARE, World Health Organization Nigeria Country Office, Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, United Nations Foundation, Population Services International, and so on. (The ones I didn't know anything about such as the International Food Policy Research Institute might not be in the "Murderer's Row", but that might be only because I didn't look.

Microsoft ALONE has given over a BILLION dollars to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which simply disburses that money to the entities above (and many others NOT listed) to whom that money is not just a symbol of a player disrespecting the flag or national anthem, BUT IS REAL OPERATIONAL FUNDING.

I have seen the result of this operational funding WITH MY OWN EYES down in Washington DC at protests. Large buses parked in rows, protesters being handed professionally pre-printed signs as they get off, and though I have not seen the transactions myself, liberal anti-American protesters being paid a stipend to participate. SOMEONE pays for the protest permits. SOMEONE pays for all of this.

I remember standing with a bunch of conservative counter-protesters, looking at all these buses and signs, and all of us wondering aloud in discussion who pays for it, eventually mumbling it is MoveOn.org, Soros, or whatever.

But you know the REAL answer of "who pays for this?" It is Apple, Exxon Mobile, GE, Soros Fund Management, GAP, State Street, Car Max, Johnson & Johnson, Boeing, Chevron, Disney, Google, The Home Depot, JP Morgan, Merck, Starbucks, State Farm and Verizon, just to name a few. THESE ARE THE TOP 20 from 2014 ALONE.

I’m a firm believer that if ‘LEGITIMATE AUDITS’ were ever conducted on any of the organizations you listed and people actually held accountable, we’d find that the Leftists or Elitists run them are clowns and nothing but greedy, despots that are getting rich while the people they’re supposed to be helping starve. Their corruption knows no bounds as long as they can afford the townhouse in Georgetown(I thought Asheville was white, but it doesn’t hold a candle to Georgetown).

But they can be that way, because their wealth insulates them with multiple layers, so they can afford to be like that. They aren’t living among the filth, despair, violence and chaos.

And, that most of them are in Do-Nothing, yet High Profile positions, where they get paid a lot of money and do very little work. One gets in a position, then they reel their friends up to that floor and the cycle continues.

Watch...Backstabbing for Beginners ... at first I thought it was an actual documentary, but it was a movie based on actual events. We’ll never know the levels of corruption that go on in this world.

Kind of like the US Dept of State. It has long been taken over by Radical Leftists and all they do is hire the sons and daughters of their friends to ensure that the Radical Leftist Train, keeps rolling down the track. And they can all make a very comfortable living in the process and live well, off the taxpayer.

Basically, it’s a good racket if you can get your foot in the door. Great money. Not hard work. Not a lot expected of you, because you have an army of young Leftists that are trying to pay their dues as they try to climb the Liberal Ladder to success.

Think about the Clinton’s. What was found out about their charity? It spent less than 10% on actual charity. Everything else went to salaries, travel and admin expenses. I saw a meme the other day, not sure if it was accurate, that stated they took $16 billion from the Haitians and built less than 20 houses. Not sure if that’s true or not, but it damn sure wouldn’t surprise me.

"...Kind of like the US Dept of State. It has long been taken over by Radical Leftists..."

Absolutely. It sounds strange to say, but this takeover occurred at the end of WWII led by Dean Atcheson and allowed initially by George Marshall.

I am reading (again) an amazing book: Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America's Enemies, and it continues to astonish me at the corrosion at the State Department, by exactly the same kinds of Leftists we see there today, though they had a higher mix of actual Soviet agents working in there.

I am going to work up a thread soon about the parallels between Donald Trump and the American public today, which parallels Joseph McCarthy and the American public of the day then.

In both cases, opposing both McCarthy and Trump are committed Leftists who do not have the interests of America in mind.

If it were just the State Dept, it could kind of be contained and controlled. Unfortunately they have taken over most of the government bureaucracy, the educational system, the courts, and local school boards-county commissions-city councils. And really, nary a word from the people that are allowing any of this to happen. One of them establishes a foothold and when jobs open up in these agencies, the requirements are modified so only their friends can get them. Next thing you know, in the span of a few years, all the good folks are gone and the place is awash with Radicals.
