I met someone years ago who moved to Israel and just couldn’t bear to be without her beloved cat. When I visited her, the cat came back home with a freaking lizard in its mouth. Granted, it was a bit smaller than Alan the Alligator, but maybe a puma could do it (but they all WANT to, no matter their size).

Granted, it was a bit smaller than Alan the Alligator, but maybe a puma could do it (but they all WANT to, no matter their size). If that occurred in Israel, the lizard was very likely a Painted Agama (Laudakia stellio), which is very common in Israel. I saw a lot of them on rocks, around buildings, in window wells, etc.

Merrit Island critter ping! Oh yeah! We crossed paths with an adolescent gator on our daily walks along S Courtenay Pkwy. They would float in from one of the rivers via the canals and drainage areas. It is an island and we had plenty of "wildlife" to interact with. Nothing as dramatic as that one...
Our purebred Haitian Street Dog was good about alerting us to interlopers...when she wanted to.
