The average American teacher makes $44,000 starting out and approximately $68,000 at the upper end of their earning potential. In comparison, teachers in Luxembourg can make up to $137,000.

Can we have that in after-tax take-home dollars?

It is amazing how much extra money a country has to spend on things when another country protects you from Russia.

The cost of living also has a lot to do with it.

Our son taught at Hinsdale High School District 86 and their pay scale probably exceeds Luxemburg.

Luxemburg pop 500k, District 86 pop 100k.

Maine Township High School District 207 average teacher salary of $110,929

The top five districts would exceed the total pop of Luxembourg.
The Top 5 school districts conferring six-figure pensions are Palatine TWP HSD 211, Palatine (449); Township HSD 214, Arlington Heights (419); Consolidated HSD 230, Orland Park (196); Northfield TWP HSD 225, Glenview (188); Maine TWP HSD 207, Park Ridge (180).
