Today’s Cryptogram

Today’s Cryptogram

V IXKIAP XLLH IW VW WTIW V KLSH KVWT UA DUNXLADDP IP LNNLPDZ WL WTDU KLSHVCR ELS UD. ZLCIXZ WSFUN

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter.

For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles. Puzzle solvers love to hear if you found the CG challenging or easy.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat; Miscellaneous; Music/Entertainment
KEYWORDS: brain; cryptogram; puzzle; todayscryptogram
If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under two "you're a pro!"

Those of you looking for an added challenge can try to solve one sentence or even one word at a time, i.e. solve the entire first line, then go to the second line etc.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

I'm back! Did anyone miss me? :-)

I had a great trip to Florida. Stayed with friends in Sawgrass about 20 miles North of St. Augustine.

Highlight was seeing Carol Burnett Friday night. Really miss her show.

I think these CGs are getting too easy for you people, or else you're just getting better at it.

Here are the answers to the last 3 puzzles:

Friday:It is better to be feared than loved, if you cannot be both. Niccolo Machiavelli

Saturday:Whatever is begun in anger ends in shame. Benjamin Franklin

Sunday:If you haven't got anything nice to say about anybody come sit next to me. Alice Roosevelt Longworth

Today's quotation is from someone we all love.

Made the leap at the author and it was downhill from there.

Not awake enough to remember to set a timer, but didn’t have to change any of the letter guesses.

Glad you had a good time in Florida, nikos. (I always loved Carol Burnett; her Harvey Korman skit with the dentist is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen).

Easiest one ever today. I guessed the first two words and the rest fell into my hands like a ripe fruit. 1 minute, as fast as I could select letters.

Same here. I recognize any variation of his name now.

I grew up in Sapulpa Ok. The local paper the Sapulpa Herald always had a crossword puzzle and a cryptogram. My mother and I fought over who got the paper first, thus got to do the quote. I grew up on these things. Love them!

I think it took me three, but I was doing it at work. DUNXLADDP jumped out at me once I got to concentrate on it.

That one just fell in my lap. Guessed 3 letters correctly and had it done in 1:47
Good quote by the way, how a real leader leads.
