Orlando over Atlanta--
Memphis over Birmingham--
and Arizona over Salt Lake--
And just as a reminder, dear campers, the August 1 NFL Hall of Fame Game, is just 175 days away.
This will be fun. As I mentioned on the NFL thread many weeks back, I have very fond memories growing up of watching the Hartford Knights of the old Atlantic Coast Football League.

Marv Hubbard was the Knights star fullback until he was picked up by the Oakland Raiders.
While San Antonio is the closest team to me, I am NOT going to cheer a Mike Riley team after what he did to my Chargers.
San Diego Fleet all the way!
Haze grey and underway we go!
Well, here goes...
My picks for Week 1 are:
San Antonio
Atlanta
Birmingham
Arizona

I made her into a Bears fan.
"The verdict is in and the sky judge has final say.
If the eye in the sky doesnt lie -- an old football expression that the tape of the game shot from atop the stadium doesnt lie -- then just imagine how valuable another two eyes will be for the Alliance of American Football.
When the Alliance season opens Saturday night in San Antonio and Orlando, the creative and safety conscious first-year league will put an official in the press box level with the jurisdiction to assess penalties for unsafe plays at any point during the game that the eight officials on the field miss. The sky judge also will have the authority, but only in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter, to pick up or have flags thrown for defensive or offensive pass interference.
The moaning you just heard is from New Orleans.
Back judge, field judge, side judge. Now we have the sky judge, said Mike Pereira, who is overseeing the Alliances officiating department along with Dean Blandino. They each used to run the NFLs officiating department.
The sky judge will not have the benefit of instant replay unless there is a stoppage of play and time allows. The sky judge cant stop the game to look at a replay.
The decisions will be made in real time but they also have the benefit of a 360-degree view of the field from above that the officials down below in the middle of the action dont share. That will give the sky judge a better angle on whether there is a helmet-to-helmet hit or a blindside hit that should be penalized if the officials on the field didnt see it and whether there is a game-altering pass interference play.
Y’all got my picks, right? From “The Big Game” thread. PM if you want them again.
Impy, did bendy forward my old avatar to you? The one with the 1957 Lions logo in it? I’d prefer that one for the AAF.
Memphis = Singletary. What could go wrong?
The eyes are the windows to the soul which means that Mike Singletary’s soul is nucking futz!
Sorry, dude.
Missed the ‘2’.
Hope you understand.
It was the 1934 emblem if I recall correct and here are the two I toyed with:
Best copy them for later use as they may not be up on this site much longer.
I thought it was a homage to Chuck Barry.
“But, I LIKE number 2.”

While you occasionally hear of players like Kurt Warner coming up to NFL greatness via minor leagues like the Arena Football, few know that America's First Quarterback:
Johnny... U!
He played for the Bloomfield Rams, a semi-pro team that... "played every Thursday night at the Arsenal Street School playground in the Bloomfield section of Pittsburgh."
