The Fetid, Right-Wing Origins of Learn to Code
Really? All those smug reporters telling coal-miners who'd lost their jobs because of Obama that they needed to learn to code were "right-wing" and "fetid"? Who knew?
People are taunting laid-off reporters with the "learn to code" line because those same reporters kept telling everyone else to do it. If the reporters don't like it, they can feel free to go pound sand.

“Btw there was some Obama signed bill authorizing for first time spending money for propaganda targeting Americans. It expired end of last year. Suggested online thats why these cuts are happening.”
I heard the same - and it makes sense, as these outfits don’t otherwise seem to have a source of financing.

How about installing fence posts...make them actually do some REAL WORK, for the first time in their lives.

I used to be fluent in FORTRAN.
FORTRAN is now obsolete.
Not fluent enough to work on fixing legacy systems...
I love what I do now.

Yes. Those same opinion makers had little enough sympathy when Barack Obama was shutting down the coal industry and destroying private healthcare.

It sure was. In 2015 Wired Magazine published an article entitled "Can you Teach a Coal Miner to Code" and the answer was yes, of course you can. How is it an insult to journalists now but wasn't an insult to miners in 2015?
The original article is here

With the way Trump is bringing back manufacturing jobs, Ms. Talia may find herself toting a lunch bucket to a factory soon. I’m sure all those wimmens studies and capitalism is evil courses will get her a plum job down at the plant.

What a pathetic article and author. The left has been using these tactics for decades from the 1960s until today. Some conservatives launch a few written attacks en masse and we are supposed to feel pity for the anarchists, communists, antifas, and all the other leftist malcontents that have been destroying society forever.
The author's complaint about the "learn to code" taunt is hilarious and without merit. Here's one example of a leftist Senator congratulating a program that taught miners to write computer programs:
To: dynachrome
Liberal elitists told unemployed coal miners to go learn to code.
A few fly by night groups set up “code camps” before folding to profit on the desperate and NGO money.

Okay, let’s change it to “Learn to make fries.” Coding is far beyond their capabilities anyway.
