Todays Cryptogram
VH OLOETQNVGU AOOWA MGROE KJGQEJF TJM'EO ZMAQ GJQ UJVGU HPAQ OGJMUN. WPEVJ PGREOQQV
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter.
For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
Send me a private reply if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under two "you're a pro!"
Those of you looking for an added challenge can try to solve one sentence at a time, i.e. solve the entire first line, then go to the second line etc.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
Its easier to work on the puzzle without having to use your pencil.
Solution to our last puzzle:
Three o'clock is always too late or too early for anything you want to do. Jean-Paul Sartre
Lot's of "O"s!!!! Challenging little puzzle yesterday. Many of you picked up the first two words out of the gate, and it was down hill from then on. Another clue was the two 3 letter words.
Less than two minutes.
Just like a sprint car race?
Three minutes. Started with the contraction, which helped me get the 2nd word.
My first under two minutes! Yipee!
The contraction gives you almost 20 letters of the puzzle...
Actually it gives you 25!
I forgot to look at the time, but quick. 2nd word was key.
Under two minutes. Contraction gave it away
10 letters,1st and 3rd the same. I can only think of two, and the other has matching 2nd and 9th letters.
OTOH, I solved it without using any electronic aid or pencil and paper or anything. Just looking at the screen relying on only memory.
Thought of a third, but it, too, has matching 2nd and 9th letters...the same letter as the other. And neither of those would be in common usage.
Very good
2:20
Very good. This was a good puzzle since it had the matching suffix in two words, the contraction, and a few other things. Many of you got it very fast, as fast as the life of the quotation’s author’s.
Agree that the contraction is the key.

You’re caught up and up to date?
I may still pull up older ones and try not to peek.
