It’s a great hub point for terrorists to get around to where they need to go.

If you ever wanna see how busy, go to this site:

www.flightradar24.com

It’s definitely a 24/7 airport - flight to and from Africa, Europe, Asia and the rest of the Middle East.

Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are also pretty busy too.

Flew through in early 2013. At the time it was the biggest, emptiest, airport I had ever been through. If you build it, they will...

The Arabs in Dubai are crazy. Stay away.

Briton jailed for four years in Dubai after customs find cannabis weighing less than a grain of sugar under his shoe

One man has even been jailed for possession of three poppy seeds left over from a bread roll he ate at Heathrow Airport.

“One man has even been jailed for possession of three poppy seeds left over from a bread roll he ate at Heathrow Airport.”

As a kid, my older buddy told me how drugs were made out of poppy seeds. Well, snuck into the spice rack and grabbed the poppy seeds.

I think I stopped at three seeds - I was starting to get a bit lightheaded! (Third grade or so!)

Atlanta is #1. LAX is #4. I believe that. LAX is always busy even on a Christmas afternoon.

Atlanta’s Jackson-Hartsfield International Airport total passengers for 2018:

105.28 million.

Dubai’s 89.15 million—not even close.

100% of the flights at Dubai are international - that’s what the article is pointing out. Atlanta is largely domestic - though it feels like 105 million people are there on any given Friday afternoon. :)

As with any statistic...,

Atl has 52 million travelers about ten million more than Dubai

I don’t care where they’re going

I’ve flown through Dubai dozens of times, although not in last 10 years. It’s main terminal is much nicer than Atlanta, and I suppose the new Emirates terminal is even nicer than what I remember. I avoided the often LONG lines at passport control with an electronic visa — swipe the card and the first gate opens, then your fingerprint is scanned and the second gate opens. The headline emphasizing INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS is probably true. The Sharjah airport isn’t as nice but sometimes had iris scanning.

UAE is quite interesting. Each Emirate has its own government. Dubai led the way, but Abu Dhabi may be more elegant now. Only about 10% of the population are UAE citizens. There nearly 100 shopping malls, with some amazingly exotic. One reason that they may be blessed is that they’ve allowed — even welcomed — international churches to meet in a rather large designated compound area that has multiple buildings. I also attended a totally normal international Christian gathering at a Marriott hotel.

I’ve been flying thru Atlanta every other week for the past several months, with a few more to go.

There are MANY terminals nicer than Atlanta!
