If anything happens, THEY WILL SIMPLY BLAME IT ALL ON PRESIDENT TRUMP AND HIS RABID RIGHT-WING SUPPORTERS, AND THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA WILL BACK UP THEIR LYING, DESPICABLE NARRATIVE 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK.
Their mantra will be: "President Obama kept the nation safe, until the racist, dictator Trump, and his evil, right-wing racist, Zeno phobic supporters took over, THEY are the problem, THEY ARE ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE!" And the unwashed masses will eat it up with a spoon.

Perhaps you mean since the work cannot now be done, he must get re-elected so that then he can finally do it?
While Pelousy does have the media on her side, Trump is giving her more than enough rope to hang herself. She agreed to negotiate once the government was reopened. The ink was not even dry on the agreement and she was already stating that she wasn’t going to negotiate.
This just proves the Trump is taking care of the government employees by making sure that they do get paid, and he is being reasonable about the shutdown. When the Dems refuse to talk even after agreeing to it, then they cannot spin it that Trump is being unreasonable (even tho they will do everything they can to do so). It may even take another round of this before Trump declares that the HOR is not working with him at all in this issue, thereby given him the ability to make it happen without their input.
This is golden because without their input he can do it his way, and when they throw a temper tantrum about what and how it is happening, Trump can rightly say that he attempted to work with them numerous times and they refused, so he had to do it without their input.
Here’s the thing. There have been empty SCOTUS seats before at the SOTU.
There may have been empty seats before, but everyone knows why the RBG seat would be empty this time (and it’s not a “prior engagement”).
Would you rather have President Sanders???
