America has undergone enormous change during the nearly eight decades of my life. Today, America is a bitterly divided, poorly educated and morally fragile society with so-called mainstream politicians pushing cynical identity politics, socialism and open borders. The president of the United States is threatened with impeachment because the other side doesn’t like him. The once reasonably unbiased American media has evolved into a hysterical left-wing mob. How could the stable and reasonably cohesive America of the 1950s have reached this point in just one lifetime? Who are the main culprits? Here’s my list of the 10 most destructive Americans of the last 80 years.
(10) Mark Felt – Deputy director of the FBI, aka “Deep Throat” during the Watergate scandal. This was the first public instance of a senior FBI official directly interfering in America’s political affairs since the days of J. Edger Hoover, godfather of the FBI. Forerunner of James Comey, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Andrew McCabe and others.
9) Bill Ayers – Represents the deep and ongoing leftist ideological damage to our education system. An unrepentant American terrorist who evaded punishment, he devoted his career to radicalizing American education and pushing leftist causes. Ghost wrote Obama’s autobiography, “Dreams of My Father” that is a masterful blueprint of social world dominance.
8) Teddy Kennedy – Most folks remember Teddy as the guy who left Mary Joe Kopechne to die in his car at Chappaquiddick. The real damage came after he avoided punishment for her death and became a major Democrat force in the US Senate, pushing through transformative liberal policies in health care and education. The real damage was the 1965 Hart-Cellar immigration bill he pushed hard for that changed the quota system to increase the flow of third world people without skills into the US and essentially ended large-scale immigration from Europe.
7) Walter Cronkite – Cronkite was a much beloved CBS network news anchor who began the politicalization of America’s news media with his infamous broadcast from Vietnam that described the Tet Offensive as a major victory for the Communists and significantly turned the gullible American public against the Vietnam War. In fact, the Tet offensive was a military disaster for the NVA and Viet Cong, later admitted by North Vietnamese military leaders. Decades later Cronkite admitted he got the story wrong. But it was too late. The damage was done.
6) Bill and Hillary Clinton— It’s difficult to separate Team Clinton. Bill’s presidency was largely benign as he was a relative fiscal conservative who rode the remaining benefits of the Reagan era. But his sexual exploits badly stained the Oval Office and negatively affected America’s perception of the presidency. In exchange for financial support, he facilitated the transfer of sensitive military technology to the Chinese. Hillary, a Saul Alinsky acolyte, is one of the most vicious politicians of my lifetime, covering up Bill’s sexual assaults by harassing and insulting the exploited women and peddling influence around the globe in exchange for funds for the corrupt Clinton Foundation. She signed off on the sale of 20% of the US uranium reserve to the Russians after Bill received a $500,000 speaking fee in Moscow and the foundation (which supported the Clinton’s regal lifestyle) received hundreds of millions of dollars from those who benefited from the deal. Between them, they killed any honor that might have existed in the dark halls of DC.
5) Valerie Jarrett - The Rasputin of the Obama administration. A Red Diaper baby, her father, maternal grandfather and father-in-law (Vernon Jarrett who was a close friend and ally of Obama mentor Frank Marshall Davis) were hardcore Communists under investigation by the U.S. government. She has been in Obama’s ear for his entire political career pushing a strong anti-American, Islamist, anti-Israeli, socialist/communist, cling-to-power agenda.
4) Jimmy Carter - Carter ignited modern day radical Islam by abandoning the Shah and paving the way for Ayatollah Khomeini to take power in Tehran. Iran subsequently became the main state sponsor and promoter of international Islamic terrorism. When Islamists took over our embassy in Tehran, Carter was too weak to effectively respond thus strengthening the rule of the radical Islamic mullahs. Remains a champion anti-Israeli leader on the world stage.
3) Lyndon Johnson – Johnson turned the Vietnam conflict into a major war for America. It could have ended early if he had listened to the generals instead of automaker Robert McNamara. The ultimate result was: a) 58,000 American military deaths and collaterally tens of thousands of American lives damaged; and b) a war that badly divided America and created left wing groups that evaded the draft and eventually gained control of our education system. Even worse, his so-called War on Poverty led to the destruction of American black families with a significant escalation of welfare and policies designed to keep poor families dependent on the government (and voting Democrat) for their well-being. He deliberately created a racial holocaust that is still burning today. A strong case could be made for putting him at the top of this list.
2) Barack Hussein Obama - Obama set up America for a final defeat and stealth conversion from a free market society to socialism/communism. As we get deeper into the Trump presidency, we learn more each day about how Obama politicized and compromised key government agencies, most prominently the FBI, the CIA and the IRS, thus thoroughly shaking the public’s confidence in the federal government to be fair and unbiased in its activities. He significantly set back race and other relations between Americans by stoking black grievances and pushing radical identity politics. Obama’s open support for the Iranian mullahs and his apologetic “lead from behind” foreign policy seriously weakened America abroad, i.e. the Middle East. His blatant attempt to interfere in Israel’s election trying to unseat Prime Minister Netanyahu is one of the most shameful things ever done by an American president.
1) John Kerry – Some readers will likely say Kerry does not deserve to be number one on this list. I have him here because I regard him as the most despicable American who ever lived. After his three faked Purple Hearts during his cowardly service in Vietnam, he was able to leave the US Navy early. As a reserve naval officer and in clear violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, he traveled to Paris and met privately with the NVA and the Viet Cong. He returned to the United States parroting the Soviet party line about the war and testified before Congress comparing American soldiers to the hordes of Genghis Khan. It was a clear case of treason, giving aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war. We got a second bite of the bitter Kerry apple when as Obama’s secretary of state, he fell into bed with the Iranian (“Death to America”) mullahs giving them the ultimate green light to develop nuclear weapons along with billions of dollars that further supported their terrorist activities. Only the heroic Swift Vets saved us from a Manchurian Candidate Kerry presidency. Ultimately, we got Obama.
Dishonorable Mentions! (Just missed the major list)
John Brennan – Obama’s CIA director who once voted for Communist Gus Hall for president. A key member of the Deep State who severely politicized the CIA. Called President Trump treasonous for meeting with the president of Russia.
George Soros – Jewish former Nazi collaborator in his native Hungary who as a self-made billionaire has poured hundreds of millions of dollars into left wing groups and causes. The damage he has caused is difficult to measure, but it’s certainly large. The evidence indicates he has funded much of the effort to destroy the Trump presidency.
Frank Marshall Davis - Anti-white, black Bolshevik, card-carrying Soviet agent. Probable birth father and admitted primary mentor of young Barak Hussein Obama.
Frank Hawkins is a former US Army intelligence officer, Associated Press foreign correspondent, international businessman, senior newspaper company executive, founder and owner of several marketing companies and published novelist.
Actually I think G.H.W. Bush should be on that list, since it includes the Clintons, and he was at least as dangerous as they were.
He was essentially against the breakup of the Soviet Union after Gorbachev. His stated concern came from the deep state and it believed that a dismembered Soviet Union would lose control of its nuclear weapons. Then when the Soviet Union did break up, he set the stage, later exploited by the Clintons, that sent in westerners (experts in “market” finance) that actually HELPED build the current age of Russian oligarchs in control of nearly all the Russian economy.
Then, he did not “end” the war in Iraq, he delayed it’s end for 12 more years, leaving a hugely much more difficult “nail in the coffin” of Saddam to his son, GW. Those years made Iran stronger, and made Iran stronger (underground politically) in Iraq and fully prepared for the role they took when Saddam was finally ousted. The Shia in Iraq became more in line with Iran during those 12 years, whereas they were ready during the 1st gulf war to help the U.S. depose Saddam, for their own (not Iran’s) reasons. Most Iraqi common soldiers were Shia (the majority) and not Sunni (like Saddam and most of his senior officers). The Shia were politically suppressed by Saddam. Shia soldiers wanted to join the U.S. against Saddam, and go to Baghdad with U.S. support, against Saddam.
The “nation building” he avoided his son later had to do, when Iran was politically dug in in Iraq (among the Shia) and Saddam had his “civil war” against the U.S. all planned and ready.
Not finishing Saddam the first time, complicated many later decisions concerning Bin Ladden, Al Queda and Afghanistan. It kept Iraq in as a powder keg instead of a bullet point already checked off.
During the next 12 years more Iraqi Shia went over politically to the radical Shia militias backed by Iran, because when G.H.W. Bush had the chance to remove Saddam from their midst, he let him stay. They wanted to be our ally. We missed that chance, and GW paid the price. We literally threw the Arab Shia of Iraq into the Persian arms of the Mullahs of Tehran. Thank you G.H.W.Bush NOT.
Considering the claim to be in his eighties, the guy’s memory seem to only go back fifty years.
I would have included the Rosenbergs, who gave nuclear secrets to the USSR.
I would have included FDR who consigned Eastern Europe to decades of communist rule at the Yalta Conference.
That list is not complete without Saul Alinsky.

Actually, not even Truman was responsible for China going Communist (let alone Nixon), though he certainly didn’t help with the overall situation. That blame can be placed squarely on FDR’s shoulders via the Yalta Agreement (not to mention Alger Hiss and his VP at the time, the communist one that came this close to getting the Presidency), and far more directly on two people: The first being Joseph Stilwell, a man who deliberately and knowingly handed the Communists China during World War II and sabotaged any chance of Chiang Kai-Shek keeping China firmly anti-Communist, basically being the John Kerry before Kerry was even born, and the second, surprisingly enough, was George Marshall (yes, the same guy who made the Marshall Plan), who due to naivety and partly because the Yalta Agreement basically tied his hands behind his back, let China go Communist. Had it not been for Stilwell’s siding with Mao Zedong out of explicit love for Communists, at the very least, China would be a solid ally against Soviet Russia and more importantly not Communist, not to mention most of Asia wouldn’t be communist either. Heck, we most certainly wouldn’t have had a Cold War to fight AGAINST Communism. In fact, Marshall and especially Stilwell’s screw-up was so massive that not only did that result in Joseph McCarthy calling them out on it, but even John F. Kennedy calling them out on it as well (and bear in mind, JFK is a Democrat, a fairly liberal one at that, so when even JFK realized just how bad that was, you KNOW it’s very bad.).
Eh, regarding JFK, with all due respect to your old man, at least JFK actually FOUGHT against the Communists and actually broke ranks from his fellow Democrats and aided Joseph McCarthy in taking down the Communists or die trying, which is still a heck of a lot better than most of their contemporaries on the left during that time including Harry Truman, let alone now. You have to admit, that’s pretty dang courageous. Plus, he also realized letting Vietnam having free elections especially with someone like Ho Chi Minh manning things would have been stupid and wisely rejected it. He sure as heck beats FDR who was so in bed with the Communists that it’s actually a surprise that he WASN’T one. To say little about the likes of George Lucas (he’s so far to the left that he knowingly rooted for a terrorist group, the Vietcong, during the war, and has implied that he’s NOT fond of JFK), John Kerry, and Bill Clinton (who actually not only dodged the draft, but even went further to organize not just anti-war protests, but explicitly anti-American protests, with their being sufficient evidence that he may have joined the KGB during that time), not to mention Barack Obama.
Definitely agreed with FDR, though. Heck, his dallyance with Stalin is pretty much the reason why we even HAD a Cold War and why Communism had been expanded significantly, and in more ways than one (for example, you probably know how the Yalta Agreement’s why Eastern Europe was subject to the Warsaw Pact, but did you know that it was also partly the reason why China became communist overnight after World War II?). Not to mention he was responsible for the UN, a Communist front organization of the worst sort.

To be fair, George HW Bush, a huge RINO, wasn’t exactly gutless regarding the media (remember, he managed to take down Dan Rather when the latter tried to pull a fast one on him over Iran-Contra, even turn the tables on him. And bear in mind, Rather was at the height of his power at the time.). But yeah, we definitely needed a president who actually COULD fight back against the media, hard and fast. Too much time was spent appeasing the media. Good thing Trump’s an actual fighter.
Johnson is at the top of the list for many reasons. As Majority Leader he did things that impacted this country terribly and we are still seeing those effects today.
He was probably the single most corrupt person in modern politics and as President.
Nixon didn’t start the globalism bit. That was either FDR or Wilson (with the UN and League of Nations, respectively). While Nixon might not have actually helped to stop it (though to be fair, even Ronald Reagan supported the UN, which I think was a big mistake), he was largely innocent of actually starting it.
He also wasn’t responsible for creating the Chinese monster. Again, that was FDR’s fault, and more directly the fault of Stilwell and to a lesser extent Marshall (China wouldn’t even BE communist had they just backed Chiang Kai-Shek).
I won’t comment on the whole “second cold war” bit, though.
Well, technically, China becoming communist was more FDR’s fault than Nixon’s fault. He does deserve blame for allying ourselves with China, even if it was misguided reasons at worst.
As far as the EPA, to be fair, that one actually was kind of necessary at the time because back then the rivers were dangerously polluted (there was a reason why the word “crud” exists.). Sure, it really went way overboard later on, but it still was ultimately necessary, just as the income tax was necessary under Lincoln during the Civil War.
Besides, at least he won Vietnam (watch Prager U, it makes clear that, contrary to leftist history, we actually won Vietnam, and if anything, the Democrat congress backstabbed our South Vietnamese allies after exploiting Watergate for all its worth).
