A report by the now-defunct Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from EMP Attack,
for the first time reveals details on how nuclear EMP weapons
are integrated into the military doctrines of China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran.

"Nuclear EMP attack is part of the military doctrines, plans, and exercises of Russia, China,
North Korea, and Iran for a revolutionary new way of warfare against military forces
and civilian critical infrastructures by cyber, sabotage, and EMP," the report states.

"This new way of warfare is called many things by many nations: In Russia, China, and Iran it is called Sixth Generation Warfare, Non-Contact Warfare, Electronic Warfare, Total Information Warfare, and Cyber Warfare."

EMP strikes can be adjusted in the size of the area and the intensity of the wave by detonating at different altitudes.
The closer to the earth the more powerful is the pulse.
The higher the altitude, the wider the area of impact.

Prepper Ping - EMP (Blackout Warfare) - Russia, Iran, China, North Korea,..

China, Russia Building Super-EMP Bombs for ‘Blackout Warfare'
The Commission Report reveals electromagnetic war scenarios
The weapons can be delivered through a variety of means including satellites, long- or medium-range missile;
short-range missiles launched from a freighter; from some cruise missiles and anti-ship missiles;
from jets or a commercial jetliner; or a meteorological balloon.

The report makes clear that the potential use of EMP attacks is a real danger and one openly discussed in military doctrine writings.

We've known this for decades and have spent virtually nothing to prevent it (or it's natural analogies like a solar storm).

If it happens, it will be bad.

According to some “experts” here on FR the loss of our grid due to an EMP is a myth, and anyone that believes otherwise is either misinformed or just plain ignorant. Prepare yourself.

I don’t know how you’d prevent it. But is it outside our technology to at least harden critical stuff?

TexasGunLover :" If it happens, it will be bad. "

According to the commission report in the article, it is just a matter of time.
From an earlier article, the commission states:
" It is not a question of IF it happens,.. but WHEN it happens."
The EMP concept has already been added to international military tactics and strategy.
Various methods of delivery can be employed, most of which can be accomplished anonymously, implying delayed retaliatory measures.

If the US goes dark due to EMP attack how will China keep her people fed? The Russians can barely feed themselves so they won’t be any help.

People in this country have been far too tolerant of a corrupt government. If the lights go out here that will change overnight.

Many of us are well-prepared for that day. Things will not go well for those that are not prepared. Things will go worse for foreigners who attempt to take advantage of such a situation.

Hardening the grid for this type of attack is one of President Trump's priorities.

That is one reason this report was released.

An EMP strike makes "global warming" hype seem like a mild inconvenience.

In 2010 GOP Senator Lisa Murkowski from Alaska blocked the GRID act which would have protected 300 large power transformers from EMP. The bill had passed the House unanimously.

If one day the power grid goes down due to a solar flare or EMP attack by foreign country, and you are thrust into an 18th century lifestyle for which you and your community is not prepared, be sure to thank Lisa Murkowski.

I expect they would. We probably Already have them. But the scariest bomb is the neutron bomb. Kills the people but leaves buildings a d equipment in tact.

There's only one effective EMP bomb: a nuclear warhead. As the American Starfish Prime and Russian Project K nuclear tests from 1962 demonstrated, a nuclear bomb can generate enough EMP to seriously damage anything electric and electronic.

Indeed, I think this is why the Russians kept the obsolete SS-9 Scarp (R-36) ICBM operational a lot longer than normal, since the circa 20 MT warhead detonated a few hundred miles off the ground could have generated a truly massive EMP that would have taken out electrical systems literally to the line of sight.

Overstating the threat makes you sound like a kook. You act as if we have never before in the history of mankind detonated nuclear weapons, nor observed EMP effects from the blasts. Yes, EMP from nuclear weapons can cause problems for circuits near the detonation—that’s why we harden the electronics on our military aircraft. Can an EMP weapon destroy every electronic circuit on an entire continent? Nope. There’s no evidence to suggest that this is possible. If you have a legitimate source, not one with an URL like www.endtimesprophecytechexplorernews.com, please post it here for us to read.

“But is it outside our technology to at least harden critical stuff?”

Lots of military gear is HEMP hardened. Critical civilian stuff too.

There are lots of people whose entire job is EMP hardening, and several places where EMP testing is all they do. Most of this is not visible to the average person, but if you search fbo.gov you’ll see requests for proposals with EMP or HEMP requirements.

You can bet on it that critical tactical and strategic gear is protected, along with commo gear, so whether projecting force or defending or retaliating, most of that stuff will work after an EMP pulse or four.

What threat am I overstating? How am I questioning the knowledge of nuclear weapons or the observation of EMP effects?
