Police: Woman pretended to be autistic in hoax for sexual gratification

PEARLAND, Texas (FOX 26) - Pearland police say a woman posed as her autistic "twin", who doesn't exist, and deceived a caregiver in a hoax for her own sexual gratification.

According to the Pearland Police Department, Rachel Childs, 29, solicited a caregiver online under the pretense of caring for her twin sister with autism. Police say Childs instructed the caregiver to pick up her sister and take her to the caregiver's home for the night.

I know there are FReepers who are nurses here and how do you feel about this kind of stunt? This has been tried before usually by a man on a female nurse, now vice versa. How does a nurse going into home health care find out if a person is really disabled or running a scam like this?

“Inappropriate contact made during the alleged diaper changes and what not and even the bathing,” said Wells.

Police said Childs, as the twin, allegedly came on to the caregiver, who police say the caregiver became suspicious when the suspect did not reflect behavior of someone with autism.

The caregiver contacted police after finding out Childs was an only child, Pasadena PD said.

What I find disturbing is that most reports either omit the gender of the caretaker, entirely or say “him” in one report being copied and repeated everywhere, however:

“Childs reportedly informed the feminine caregiver to choose up her sister from her home however that she wouldn’t be current. The unnamed caregiver was then to drop the sister again at Childs’ residence the next day.

Nevertheless, after arriving as deliberate to choose up the sister, the caregiver informed police that the girl engaged in “sexually oriented conduct,” KHOU-11 reported.

After conducting her personal investigation into Childs, she came upon the reality. Childs is an solely youngster. The caregiver reported Childs to Pearland police, who arrested her after figuring out that she is neither a twin nor autistic.”
