Common wisdom is that rapists/murderers do it again and again and again.

All these dna hits seem to be showing us that it’s not always so.

Yeah, this part creeped me out as well. This guy, my age, goes on what appears to be a single recreational rape/murder 27 years ago and then goes about his life.

He seemed to give himself up pretty easily. I'm guessing the guilt had been gnawing at him over the years and he always knew the day of reckoning was going to come.

True. Two guys in Chicagoland wanted to see what it felt like to murder some people. They killed three or four people in a fried chicken fast food place. Never did anything else even remotely out of line. When captured (I have forgotten what tripped them up) they were living perfectly normal lives, one in Indianapolis and one still in Chicagoland.
