BRUSSELS are likely to buckle to Britain’s key Brexit demands, due to uproar among EU countries over fears of an economic decline in the case of a no deal departure. The EU27 will give in to Prime Minister Theresa May’s demands to make the Irish border backstop a legally temporary measure. The key British demand is the only obstacle holding up Mrs May’s deal from passing in Parliament. The DUP and dozens of Brexiteers have vowed to vote down the deal this month unless changes are made to the backstop.

The EU wants the UK to pay something like $90 billion for what would be a one-year EU market access fee.
The Irish issue is only one of many.
The current proposal is going nowhere except into the circular file.
It’s been wobbling for years.
That doesn’t faze a leftist one bit.
It would be financial ruin for them to agree.

Is it happening or is there a chance it might happen?
It’s British English to say “Brussels are . . .” The will say “Parliament are . . .” too.
(is may wobbling towards supporting a hard exit?)
it seems to me that a hard brexit would throw pressure onto ireland to set up a customs and immigration border with northern ireland. that is something ireland does not want to do but ostensibly neither does ireland want to irexit either. in actuality i suppose ireland would want the customs at borders and northern ireland would want the immigration at borders.
what am i missing?
