On Wednesday, House Democrats selected Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland to serve as the next majority leader and Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina as majority whip, making them the No. 2 and No. 3 most powerful Democrats as their party regains control of the House in January.

Both lawmakers have received more than $1 million from pharmaceutical company political action committees in the past decade. Just four members of Congress hold that distinction, including Rep. Kevin McCarthy of California, whom Republicans chose as the next House minority leader earlier this month.

and one of their counterparts in the EU:

1 Jan: Daily Mail: Jean Claude Juncker used private jets for almost half of his official visits this year, with one overnight trip costing £32,000, despite EU laws banning ‘air taxis’ unless there are no other flights
•The European Commission President used jets for 21 out of 43 official trips
•Daily Mail analysis revealed that his transport bill is likely hundreds of thousands
•Mr Juncker used his 2018 State of the EU speech to warn of climate change
By David Churchill, Brussels Correspondent
Mr Juncker used his 2018 State of the EU speech to warn of the threat of climate change, which campaigners say is fuelled by emissions from air travel. He said Europeans want to ‘leave a cleaner planet for future generations’...
A spokesman claimed yesterday that the EU Commission is ‘one of the most transparent administrations in the world’.
‘The way we spend the EU budget is controlled annually by the democratically elected European Parliament

Corruption that crosses party lines and can’t be used against one party has no political value. Everything now revolves around partisanship. It’s why politicians quietly amassing huge fortunes is ignored-everyone does it.

What one most always remember is that business is not corrupt in the sense of classical capitalism. Big business is corrupt because legislative favors and contracts are made that benefit them. Big business is not inherently corrupt. It is totally corrupt due to the legislature that can write laws that benefit them. Big business is reacting in a totally rational manner to a corrupt legislature.

GE, IBM, Microsoft, etc give vast amounts of money to the democrat party. These corporations are nominally capitalists. They are quasi capitalists and totally understand the corruption of government. They exists at their extreme levels of success due to the corruption of state and business. They are one and the same. The deep state is but an extension of this.

The reason they give vastly more money to the democrats than the republicans is simple. The main stream republicans are mildly corrupt, the entire democrat party is totally corrupt. They are just whore shopping for the best price.

It’s really amazing to me that people who have been responsible for enormous amounts of hurt in the world are so delusional that they actually think they are helping humanity.

This is what has happened to our country that will tear it from top to bottom. The people know this is wrong.. but no one in congress will stop it.. they all are in on the take. It’s a promise to those who come to Washington.. “you can become rich, just forget you have a conscience”.

When the head of the company .. the parents .. the teacher... when the top dogs are being bought by special interest.. when the wrongs is a way of life... those under them figure it’s okay and probably the only way to gain.. so they do it too. That leaves this country with the rest of the public believing justice has left the building! and it has! So the haves have more and the have nots who are honest, lose.

Bunch of hypocrites. Just like politicians who are against a border/wall but manage to have one around their own homes.

Big tech FANG corporations are likely outspending pharma on political money handouts. Thats how Google can be found to openly help the Chinese military and its ignored. Yet Flynn tried to make a few bucks in the Ukraine and can be ruined etc. Crazy world.

No more tax cuts for corporations and their open borders agenda, the corporate media or their stockholders. Like everyone else here I thought that corporations were our allies. They are not. Spending money on people who contribute money to Democrats is unacceptable.

Of course they take money from special interest groups. They all do. They are all corrupt thieves. The hard thing is to find any who do not take bribe campaign “contributions”. Every state house in the nation reeks of corruption and conflict of interest.

Hoyer makes me puke.
