So if you both sell and buy in state, you more or less break even. But if you sell in the state and then move out of state you pay a fortune.

That sounds like a violation of the Commerce Clause to me.

It’s all within a state. But I am sure they could find judges up through the circuit level to say “of course it’s legal”. Then probably SCOTUS would be 4-4 with Roberts breaking the tie by siding with the lefties again because he’s made it clear that he will not interfere with the ability of the states to force the people to bend their knees.
